Here's an equal, completely irrelevant argument...

A real gamer can code games.

A real gamer is someone that has took it upon themselves to explore how a game works, understand the logic and math behind the engines that drive the games we love to play.

Just like you're talking about a games collector, this is a games programmer (me).
Not all gamers can code games, but they are still gamers. Not all gamers collect gaming memorabilia but they are still gamers.

Whenever you talk about bragging about owning games, I'll brag about writing games for a living.

Secondly I wouldn't say there is no skill in fps games to a quake pros face. Also how can you say you are a gamer and not acknowledge that fps are games. Hell I even acknowledge that peggle is a game.

Good point. I will admit I havn't a clue about coding or anything about making a game but I would challenge anyone to prove to me I am not a gamer.

another little tip to all these PC gamers who use steam like i do, get a game card and buy your wallet money for steam from them,,, you earn points for each pound you buy, i normally buy £30 ish of steam vouchers and get about 2-4 quid free after a few months thats a free tenner

And btw i have The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past so your not the only one and thats an easy game to have, try Pokemon green in Japanese with the box ... yes im a gamer and id like to think of my self as an amateur collector

and im sorry but if you go into game and as for a shooting "game" you would get a ffp, just cos you get ya ass handed to you and report people who are better than you cos you think they are modding does not mean you can slate people for enjoying one genre of game... try playing texted based games ... thats how i learned to touch type

anyways, i posted here, because its irrelevant to post that on a console gamer forum, in all honesty i want to know what it is the best, i understand that computers have way more power, than a console having an atari cant compare to an i7 computer without gpu, however im posting it here, so the best of you explain in detail, why do you think the pc is the best choise.

until this day i do not know of any first shooting game thats dificult, idk the year halo was out, but i won a tournament passing the whole game in legendary, and i didnt play it before.
i die more offen on little big planet than shooting games LOL
to be honest i dont find them fun, they are just stupid to me without any challenge

People will game where they want to. I've been gaming on a PC for so long that it's all I know. I did briefly own a 360 last year but shouldn't have believed it when people spouted such crap as -

Yeah, right. Ten minutes without FSAA and my eyes were spazzing trying to make out what all the shiny glitchy bits were.

All it turned out to be was small non aliased textures in the distance sparkling as they moved.

Amazing that my eyes got so spazzed out by not having any aliasing, but enough for me to never want to play on a console again.

New Vegas was even worse. It slowed to a complete standstill during a massive battle in the NCR prison.

Well if you had stated that in the original post, there might have been a nice equal debate going on. However, you concluded your first post with this:

PC gaming isnt really worth it, updating pc for different tasks and have fun while your at it, yes it is
Console gaming - you can brag about it, you have your tropies, you got your games and you can fucking claim youre a true gamer, im sorry but thats the way it is, if we talk about gaming, your nothing compared to a collection of games in their case.
But hey maybe some big PC gamer has a shitload of games, that probably no1 knew and that no1 cares about LOL

- you want to customize / mod your games
- you build PCs as a hobby, and pimp them out with more lights than a disco

But to me, it's a dumb question to begin with. As you said, most of us have both. Except me, since I'm not interested in consoles.

To add to that list, consoles are also great for social gaming/entertainment.
Get some beverages, have some mates round, get comfy in front of the 50" and have some fun. Nice and easy.

no seriusly guys what do you play on pc, dont bring up first person shooters, seriusly first person shooter, brainless games without anything but mod hacks, and auto iams, thats some serius skill.....
i still doubt that pc is better than a console, but i can predict that most of the pc gamers, are first person shooters (welcome to the call of dutty fanboy base)

yes ofc i will say FPS. if you seriously think it's all about haxxors you are playing the wrong games, go play quake, console will never achieve that level of gaming.
and ofc a PC is better than a console, you can just hook up every preferred peripheral, you can upgrade it, you can mod stuff, you can make your own stuff and you can use it for more than just gaming. the discussion "what is better" is completely stupid because the arguments of the PC side are overwhelming. i listed both arguments for a console in my first post and both do nothing for me because 1) i am intelligent enough to use a PC, i have no desire for overdone userfriendliness and 2) i can afford a PC
and cut the cod is for kids crap, that hasn't always been like that.

yes i play online games, i have never notice anything diferent, for me they are a pain in the ass when it comes to rpg, mmo mexico has the higher internet costs and the lower quality.

tibia (it is shitt but very fun)
league of legends (i dont see a big difference between console with that 1)
diablo (you might want to kill me but i hate it)
eden eternal (its a wonderfull anime-style like based game, but its not far from fat princess)

first two games i don't know
league of legends runs on a damn netbook and even though i hate it, you couldn't play it on console.
nobody will hate you for disliking diablo 3, it was kind of a letdown.

Then you haven't really PLAYED PC games, and shouldn't have started this mess. Grab a copy of Fallout 3 (which you should be able to get cheap). That game is an experience, but it's not too pretty (post apocalyptic earth SHOULDN'T be pretty though). For pretty, try Skyrim.

i really love RPG's Skyrim and the eldar scroll series.
I love mass effect 1,2 and 3
But fallout is the Game winner for me.
Dead space was more enjoyable on pc (maybe thats cos i played it in 3d)
same with the tropico games.
But it all depends what genre you like.
AS the games you listed well id not use them, as a reason to fault the PC
I play all the games listed on a 560ti at max spec so just have fun is the whole point though
and jump on steam fallout is norm on offer there inc the GOTY edition
