PC vs Console

Ill add my two cents, although I could rant on this subject for years, for and against.
What gets my goat is people who moan about the cost of pc's, then buy a new console (you know how much they cost after release) and then go buy a big assing laptop for £500 to browse the assing internet!!!!!!

They spend much more money then if they just chose a decent pc. which does everything in one. I just built one for my bro in a tiny coolermaster elite 120 advanced with a 7950 and an i5 for around £500.

I do understand the pros and cons of both sides as I have experience (don't try BF3 on xbox...shudders...) but I always come back to this point.

If like me you buy all of your PC games and don't steal them then over time your PC pays for itself.

Remember - brand new console title = £50 - £15 Microsoft/Sony 'licensing fee'.

Same game on PC = £25 or less.

Buy 15 games during the lifetime of your PC and you will save enough money to have paid the extra for your hardware.

That's providing you're not a thief who steals games.

Not to mention steam sales. Buy during the steam sales and you will save a fortune. Most of my games on steam profile have been bought for less than 10 euro and I have according to steam 168 games.

however if you want a massive amount of games, that you will barely play just saved on disk and you do not care, if you can brag about them or not, PC is the way to go.

Wow, just wow.

Well there you go folks, the definitive reason for PC gaming.
Wish I'd known that at the start, I could have been a real gamer by now.

Cjs-keys pretty good also

+1 for that. Them and steam sales have literally paid the difference between my pc when I first bought it last year (its been a year already jeez) and the price of what a console would be on launch.

are those invisible games in youre hardware only ?

Only around 15 of the games I listed are Steam only. Mostly because I usually find them, disc and all for around £4 once the novelty has worn off.

That's another beautiful thing about PC games, there is no second hand market so you can pick up old stock for bugger all.

TBH most of the games I have on Steam are not available on disc or I would have them on disc

yup, a massive load of games and emulators and rooms, but you cant really brag about that, my self ? i like to brag about stuff that i got, and the only good games that i currently got, are just the resident evil 1-2-3, however i am trying to get a collection of games, thats like a dream, i hardly can keep up with this resident evil games, if i dont like it i resell it and buy another, shame on me :/

Ok forgive a new guy for asking, but is this a troll thread or what?

why should we troll, theres a difference between pc and console- collections

we could argue all day no1 is proud of having a game on pc, even if you go to gameplanet and ask a pc game, they will go like @_@ really you dont own a console ?

advantage - emulators (i am to lazy to stand up and connect my crap)
disvantage - you really dont have anything that any1 else doesnt have (nothing unique about it)

im sorry i spend my best days playing mario kart, and i could even predict that any1 likes mario kart for snes, and if they didnt, they are not gamers :X they are just run and shoot people players............

Resell PC games? where?

No shops I know of will buy them which is probably why I've got so bloody many of them

I believe this thread to be legit as I regularly have conversations on this subject. Mostly with non-techy people. Their eyes can be opened but its difficult. Theres something they trust in a laptop that they don't trust in a desktop. I think theres a lot of nerdy stigma around building your own.
The same goes for consoles. People like to know that it just works (mostly) and they don't have to worry about it or learn anything.

Steam really fixes this as its fool-proof but people still need converting

The ironic thing here is you say you are not a real gamer unless you buy boxed copies and have rooms full of boxed games and then go and say to someone that they are not a real gamer because they have a lot of games stored on a hard disc and then claim they will never play them.

Just take for example the video YOU posted here do you think the guy that owns all them consoles and games will play them all the time or not? I would say at least 50% of those games and hardware do not get used over a 5 year period. He is a collector not a gamer. Being a gamer is not simply defined by how many games you have the boxes of or what you play on.

If you want to say that I am not a true gamer because my games are almost all digital is rediculous. I have played GAMES competitively and I have over 200 GAMES with a mixture of boxes and digital. I also have played over 100 hours of tf2, 100 hours of bf3 and over 2000 hours in css. But apparently I am not a true gamer because I do not fill my house with plastic covers?

What you are describing in your threads about bragging about having this or that is all the attitude of a collector be it stamps or books or games that is the same attitude.

I couldn't care less what the box looks like or whether or not I have an achievement in a game or not but that does not not make me a gamer.

is not the time been spend, but ill say that no1 that likes shooting games is a gamer, i dislike every single shooter game out there, its retarded, shoot here shoot there, you dont need a skill to do that, and also i hate the companies fucking games and trying to copy cat those games, they are bought because they are retarded proof games, what should i do now ? just run and shoot

i can not say that your not a gamer, your probably the only guy in the hole world that can finish resident evil in 20 minutes ? i do not know, and if youre a gamer or not, is not my concern, it is where is the best place to play, and why, and as far as i can tell there have been no real arguments, and no1 follow the description, your just going on a personal vendetta (yep i seen that movie)
