PC Locks up after exiting a game

Well It was before I even knew about this forum and it was recommendations from some friends that had built rigs before (this is my first one and has been a massive learning curve)

I think my friends had always used Nvidia and they just recommended what they had used and the 670 seemed good at the time.

Hey, you live you learn I guess lol

Absolutely. I have been trough it myself. There was a time when I was buying stuff from a guy and he was overpricing the hell out of them and I though the parts were good, but I was naive, didn't know much about computers. Now I know more than he does, and I can't be fooled anymore - I can think for myself. In your case, I recommend going with AMD caue they have always seemed to be ahead of nVidia and the 7970 offers better performance at the same price. All you did is listen to a bunch of fanboys ( no offense if they are your friends, but the truth hurts sometimes, sorry ).

Well in the end the card was sent to EVGA and it was an un fixable problem so they send me a credit not to chose a new graphics card

ive read that avg is the main cause for this, or other AV(Antivirus's), you could try that, or turn off comodo firewall, a guy posted that he turned both off and that resolved his problem. coincidence or not i use AVG + Comodo
