I really don't know what Stanford think they're playing at?! The 460 has given them thousands of extra CPUs to Fold on, thanks to the ease of configuration and the low cost to high PPD ratio. And yet they seem happy to either cut the PPD or half kill the cards with this WU that make them squeal like they're about to explode.

I can't talk about the squealing, but I don't think they are purposely trying to cripple 460s. From what I've read, WUs with high atom counts really bring out the differences between 580 - 480 - 460 - 450 (ie cards with more shaders do much better...the 450 seems like it's going to be pretty bad at folding with these WUs because of the low shader count, 460 fares just a little better). Unfortunately if the trend continues of going with high atom count WUs then the 460s may no longer be the king of folding.

6811's run far hotter! had to set fans to 100 and add a second 120mm fan for added air flow to keep my twin frozr ii 470 @ 80c on stock settings

it also doesn't help that it's a balmy 8c out rather than around freezing
 
Is there a way I can get more PPD out of my 8800gt?

Currently I use the normal graphical client and i get a bunch of these 4xx point WUS.

Ya mines @ 715/900, the temps dont bother me as its only @ 57c max @ 40% fan, still 20c cooler than my 8800gt's @ 50% & 75% fan

Mine neither and a 611WU is around 11000PPD these are a tad more, i am not so sad about them
