Overclocking with the Mach 2 ST in general

Try Shin etsu, Cooler Master sell it as thier "Premium" compound makes a big difference.

Yeah that or AS5 will help with a couple degrees too. I would not say a big difference though as it will be a max of 3ºC I would expect. I had a 'disscusion' with someone on another forum recently who beleived Shin etsu could make 12ºC difference hehe.

ok will invest in some, tho im still worried about getting this damn shim off :P hehe.

I just watched that video that u linked me with in the email ferret (work doesnt have Divx 5 so waited till i got home)

It was very interesting its left me with a few simple questions tho:

1.) The block stuck on the underside of the motherboard to stop condensation, is this included in the kit?

2.) I noticed that in the video it showed that the guy installed a little clip to the chasis of the case, what is this?

cheers once again fellas, and i cant wait to get the money for the ST now :D

1) Yes

2) Was that a spacer for the motherboard? Often they use them or screw in spacers depending on the case/mobo tray.

for phase change as ceramique is the one to go for...

its optimised for up to -140C afaik.

otherwise as 5 is the one to go for.

the ceramique is 100% non conductive as well ;)

Agreed, we where talking about under his artic cooler though :P

yeah its likely to be spacers so that the block can fit on the back, but it thats so, how is the i/o panel with all the conectors on it gonna line up with the mount thats already there fore the keyboard/mouse etc etc. As that lines up perfectly, surely if u move the mobo forwards it wont all line up with the fascia plate?

Ceramique is probably the best compound to go for with the Mach II - I've recently started using it again myself over AS5. It definitely prefers the sub zero temps.

There's one to stay away from - I cant remember its name, but it's a bluey liquid based compound - its apparently a very good performer but it causes a "burn-in" mark on the evaporator head over time.

well when i go to get the ST (hopefully next payday) ill speak to some1 from this forum to clarify everything i need to get up and running :) ill prolly be on the phone to you as i fit it all aswell phill, doing big jobs like this arent a regular occurance for me :P

heh thats what i thought, seems a lot more of a "closer" comunity over here and i like it :D you can count on seeing me around for a while :D

Na It was jsut the normal spacers (well those or svrew in ones) you would use when mounting a motherboard in a case. Nothing to do with the Mach II mate.

*sigh of relief*

thx for clarifying that as ive never had to install spacers before, my cases are l33t adn come with them already :D

hey guys im just setting up my P4 as i post this, i checked the box and it says my CPU is "SL6WK" any good?

Thx !

hehe yeah i certainly hope so, well this is the first intel ive persoanly bought, ive always bought AMDs.

This CPU is tiny, the fan that comes with it as stock is f*cking monsterous!

The SL6WU is the great clocker, but you never know untill you start upping the fsb in your specific rig :)...

no 2 cpus can be the same mate...its a matter of luck.

Whats the FPO/BATCH of your cpu?
