Overclocking problem AW9D

From an outside pov (not having had this mobo) it does sound as if u`r starting high and going lower, instead of starting low and going higher.

Just my $0.02

nope

i put the vcore to 1.45 , ram at 2.0 and i just put up the fsb from 357 to 360 and i still get errors + now it is 2 c hotter

a friend of mine told me to try to put up the northbridge chipset , i even flashed the bios from 12 to 13 and still not stable

OK - take a look at Frag's OC guide first - it is with an AW9D MAX

I am basically repeating what Frag has already said...

Disable all CPU features except the one that says 'leave enabled if running XP' in the window, right hand side.

I looked in your sig - I have no idea what ram you have, however, the MAX has issues running high clocks with anything other than a 1:1 ram divider, so set this to 1:1! Also, to start, 5-5-5-15 timings should increase stability. These can be knocked down to 4-4-4-12 or whatever once you have your cpu stable.

My max orthos stable was 3.3 - however I ran it at 3.5 24/7 and could f@h whilst gaming whatever with no issues...

With your ram set at 1:1, 2.2v, 5-5-5-15, try:

External Clock - 375

Multiplier factor - x 9

NB strap - 1066

CPU core volts - for 3.5ghz, watercooled I had 1.55/1.575 24/7. For 3.3ghz orthos/prime stable 1.45v

ddr2 volts - try up to 2.2v

mch & pcie - up to 2.0v is fine. For 3.5ghz I had it at 2.0v, for 3.3ghz it was 1.6v.

See how you get on with those settings - if you are on air don't go past 1.5v on the vcore (well, you can but it will get pretty hot!)

Oh, I found bios 12 to be better...

LOL - No you won't fry your chip 60 is ok, 65 a max load is ok too... High 60's70 is dangerous!

Is it stable at 63 degrees?

yes mate it has been going for 45 min now the orthos and no error , 63 is not constant it just jumps up to 63 and then back to 60

hmm i think i can leave the timings how they are

if i reduce the timings to how they were before i think that would be 4- 4 - 4 - 10 should i get any probs or i leave them 5-5-5-15?

If you are happy with your cpu OC then yes you can start to tighten your ram timings... It takes time however, you can't just jump from 5-5-5-15 to 4-4-4-10... Suppose you could go for 4-4-4-12 straight off, then run orthos. I went 4-5-5-15, then 4-4-5-15, 4-4-4-15, 4-4-4-12 etc prime95/orthos inbetween to check stability.

Good luck mate. I need to crack on with this pelt build - taking so much longer than anticipated!

ok mate i gonna try orthos now at 4- 4 - 4 - 15 should work imo
