overclockers UK reivew

ive used ocuk alot and never had a problem with them, only niggle is that they are more expensive then aria and scan.as for postage ive posted 300 posts in over 100 days and dont have to pay a penny for next day shipping.free shipping from dpd you cant moan at that

I use OC'ers for most of my orders with no problems at all, you can place an order a 9am and you will receive an email by 12 saying it has shipped. Their prices are great, and 90% of the time what you want is in stock. As mentioned, you just had bad luck, with faulty goods. Also as mentioned the only problems I have ever had is with Specialtech my last 2 orders have been botched but this isn't the place for that. But to slate a whole company on one experience is just not right. At every request they responded with ok then we will do that . That tells me that they are a good company willing to acomaodate.

Their prices are not great man. Not unless they get a special deal in. Most of the time near on everything they sell is more expensive than anywhere else and it's always been like that.

They do sometimes get amazing deals on older products but for the most part they are pretty expensive.

Mixed bag with OCUK. I ordered 2 GTX 670's but they weren't suitable for my case - they accepted the RMA under DSR terms. No problems, plus free Haribos. That's not a privilege though, it's a consumer right (DSR, not the Haribos!).
However I mentioned on the forum I was ready to push the button on a Dell 30", and the blighters put the price up £50 very shortly afterwards (coincidental I ask you?! ;) ). Lost my business that day as I had found it £30 cheaper than before their ninja price hike.

I don't think their prices are all that great on the big ticket items, but I still browse their selection and would use them again.

Prices are a little odd sometimes.
For example, the KFA2 670 cards are on weekly deals every other week, and normally daily deals quite often in that too. The price of those cards change from £340 to £265 - sometimes up and down 3/4 times a week. Not too sure if that's a coincidence or not...
But a couple of months ago, Aria got the cards in stock too (OCUK were the only retailer stocking them back then) and suddenly the prices settled down. Now Aria have stopped stocking the cards again and the prices seem to fluctuate the same as before...

No idea if this changes due to posts on their forums or what - seems a little odd that they'd do that tbh, as it must be pretty obvious for forum members.

If it's a case of raising the price so when they put it on offer it looks like people are saving more then that's also wrong, but probably a little more believable.

Does just seem very random to me tbh on products that nobody else stocks.

I don't order from them barely due to the postage charges.
The only company I actually pay for delivery with is Ebuyer, and that's because of the convenience of ordering at 11pm and getting it the next morning...
But I've not exactly had a bad experience with them, so don't let this put you off.

I have seen that too. I would guess it's just business practises, adapting to the market. They exist to make coin, not to serve the geeks of the UK. Take the price gouging on just released hardware for example. They aren't the only ones guilty of it to be fair, but doesn't make it right overall.

Apart from their forum admins being total douche bags the actual store is like any other but I have noticed everything they stock is £10 more expensive than anywhere else, Sometimes more.
I'll stick to Aria :)

Their strategy is list things for sale for too much money.

Then, get Gibbo to post a thread in the appropriate area saying "Wow ZOMG look at this amazing deal !" and then charge normal prices. Due to them being ramped up in the first place their "special" looks like a good deal and with the mods all chirping in to say how cheap it is they sell stuff.

Bit easy to work out tbh.
