Lad has most probably sold the darn thing  Or at least that's what I remember from the chat conversation.

Ought to pay his shipping address a visit with a few guys if you ask me.

Now that's a shame man, I would of given my Q6600 and 4870 to the first person who had the less powerful PC here :).

Not heard a sausage since this arrived with him. Still hes going to have a £500 VAT bill from customs to surprise him very soon :D Amazing the value of that case in the end ;)

Thats a joke, didn'e realise that compitiotion winners had to pay Vat on there prizes?? ''£500'' what that 50% VAT?? lol

an'y believe some of these prizes go to some of these ''OC3d'ers'', guess it's forum rules that EVERYBODY has a chance.

p.s., if this sounds ...,, i'm ****ed from a nite out at uni.. didn'y get any rat tonight.. lol

tbh, i think comps like this should be exclusive to active OC3D members, I understand its a huge prize and alot of people want it but since hes done a runner, F him :p

Maybe have like a min of 100 posts, could get alot more new members who join for the prize to actaully post.

Bloke that won:

Was thinking the same but the whole point of the comp was to get more members and activity up. That worked but shame that the computer went to someone who is now lacking in activity. :(:(:(:(:(

The problem is that the large majority of those that'll join the forum for the competitions won't have much interest in posting regularly so any increase in activity would only be temporary. I would have thought that it were the articles, reviews and news from the website that attracts more regular posters?

No you don't have to pay VAT for your prize, but I believe it was in the contract he signed... If he sells the case he has to pay VAT. And I think Tom assumed the normal 17 (?) % VAT here.

Dutch rules would be sweet here :p 50% VAT on all gifts above €1000 iirc.

No replies at all, no pics of the rig after arrival. Not even a confirmation that he recieved the parcel as far as I know.

Blimey!!!

All i can say really :( nice looking rig aswell.

Hope he does get stung for the vat!

If i had won a rig like that, like most other regulars on here i guess i would be all over the forums like a rash!

It wasnt a cheap rig mate, it was over £1500 in componants without the case, and the PAINT job alone was £350's worth.........

Ive heard nothing but 'it arrived' we had a feeling he would sell it and he was told about the VAT if he sold it and that we specifically required photos of it built for the sponsors. Id have been happy if I got pics of it, but nothing. Kinda makes me wonder what the point was, I paid for that case with my own money, no marketing budget here, I crammed in overtime at work to get the money together for it all.

Ill have tighter rules for my website launch compo. I want to make sure one of the regulars gets the goodies this time.

Awww we love you Tom.

I'll give you a kiss, feel better?

Nope I wouldn't either :D.

Perhaps the dude died from a heart attack, the shock of such an awesome rig. Unless someone didn't wire it correctly :D.

Shame about the news.

I guess this has scarred Tom for his whole life.

That's right. No more competitions that include Tom's customisation. *sob*.
