I used to be a CS gamer (played in a few competitions in some of the UK's best teams) and ran the OC3D CS team for a while.....we were pretty good as well
I was playing CS back in the days when players like Heaton were playing with NIP and SK. Ahhhh those were the days

Oh right. Do you know where he is now? I used to work with him years ago but haven't seen him in ages.
When you say "sold up", who runs / owns the site now?

Thanks for all of the kind "welcome backs". I really should get myself another PC I guess now!!
I'm WAAAAY out of touch though. The last time I was building PC's, the AMD Althon was the best processor out there. I'm completely lost now with these Intel I series range....
Actually looking back, this was my last PC....
I guess this is pretty out of touch now?!?!
Case: Lian-Li PC-7 Black Aluminium
PSU: Hiper Type R 580watt
Mobo: DFI Lan Party
Memory: OCZ 1GB PC4800 Dual Channel Platinum Series running at 533mhz
CPU: AMD Opteron running at 2.8ghz
Cooling: ThermalRight XP-90C + YS-Tech FD9325 92mm Fan
Gfx: XFX GeForce 6800 GS Extreme XXX (gonna get another one in the new year and run in SLI )
Mods: 2 x Blue Neon Cathodes + Window for the case.

Wow thats some old gear, the DFI Lanparty, wasn't that around the time of the Asus P5B Deluxe? Good old hardware though. The Opteron as well, back when AMD were top dog!

I had a spare Hiper PSU from my last rig which I've just put into my dad's PC I just built for him. It served me well, so it should be fine, plus.. it's shiny xD
Jim actually built that PC for me and it was state of the art at the time
I literally have no clue these days what is good and what isn't. For example, I assume in the Intel range, an i7 is better than an i5?
Yes but in some cases like gaming the i5 is better. I don't have a clue about AMD really.

It's not better, it's just not worth the extra cost of an i7 for a gaming rig lol.
