hi folks,

5mins ago i ordered my dark rock pro, I should get it the day after tomorrow. (is there a word for the day after tomorrow in english ?)

I've been looking all over the web for a review and there is none so if you people want me to, i'll make a written review in my crappy english.

it will be my first am cooler so i can't compare to anything but the stock amd one

Let us know how it performs. User reviews are always good to see! What does it cost compared to the NH-D14 and why did you choose this over the Noctua?

There isn't a word for the day after tomorrow in English. Just, "the day after tomorrow"

Most definately....

I have been holding off because Tom said he was supposed to be getting the Dark Rock Pro in the mail soon to do a review, but I think he's tied up for a while.

I would love to see how it stacks up against the NH-d14 though. I would like to see it de-throne the nh-d14 because when someone asks about a CPU air cooler all anyone can come up with is NH-D14 (when something's good it's good). I personally don't like the fugly nh-d14 fan color EDIT or plain looks END EDIT and think the dark rock pro looks a he** of a lot better. Unfortunately looks doesn't always equal performance.

Seriously though...I'd at-least like it to equal the nh-d14 just to give people an option and raise the bar for other coolers

Not being an instigator or for you Euro types = Not Rowing...hehe

Lol...the one person that voted no must have the nh-d14 and / or doesn't want to see if other manufacturer's can rise to the occasion or raise the bar on Noctua themselves.

I personally like to see whats what and look forward to your findings

NH-d14 is going to be hard to beat though...Good Luck

Well, from a lot of Reviews i read the Thermalright Silver Arrow and the Thermalright Archon beat the D14 by a small margin...

I'd love to see how the dark Rock Pro performs though...

Also, the Scythe Mine 2 looks very promising.

Did you see toms' vid review and OC3D review on NH-D14??

Supposed to be definitive real life reviews. NH-D14 won out.

well, there are about a dozen reviews out there and in most the silver arrow won...

and in tom's review the silver arrow was better until the 4.4GHz mark, where the D14 hit temps around 90°C wich by the way, is as much fail as 100°C, since, in a real life situation, i would never let an i7 get as hot as 90°C...

Also, in no other review, inside the case or on a benchtable, did i see a similar thing, where the sa temps suddenly skyrocket like that.

i also did a comparison between those two myself (in a lian li 7fn) on an 1090T @different Speeds/Voltages (3.2-4.0GHz), with different fans and different fan speeds, the silver arrow was 1 or 2 degrees better most of the time, the noctua was a bit better at lower fan speeds, though...

here is a new Review y'all might be interested in:

Like in most Reviews the SA is ahead of the D14 by a degree or so, but the interesting part are the Archon temps!
