Hi I don't know how to go about it but you guys need to do an article on this -

Opsys Gaming (www.opsys.co.uk) have gone bust, but there is no official announcement on social media but Companies house has the owner Liam Moore marked as resigned, and the website is no longer taking orders. His Linkedin profile also looks now to be disabled/deleted. Customers have taken to social media to voice their concerns and complaints.

Opsys have been taking orders right back as far as December last year but not shipping some, and refusing to allow customers a refund because "it's a custom build". I think this is valid if you're, for example painting a portrait or making someone a custom wedding dress, when time and raw materials are involved and used that cannot be recovered if a customer changes their mind. Typically people will take a deposit to cover this. We all know this is not the case with PC components, and Opsys are blatantly exploiting the "custom" element of their computers (letting customers choose the parts they want) and using this to leverage a no refunds policy. Trouble sourcing computer components does not qualify. Customers are out of pocket thousands of pounds and have been strung along for months.

Five minutes on Trustpilot and their Facebook page, you can see customers going as far back as December who still haven't received their order - some of them are computers worth several thousands of pounds. One customer it looks like they returned their PC for an upgrade and they have not received it back.

Opsys are saying an ex employee is responsible for a cyber attack in July, which is absurd because their issues date back as far, possibly even further than last December. They are also blaming a lack of allocation of graphics cards from Nvidia. The whole thing reads to me like a load of excuses and the whole thing stinks of mis-management and someone who is trying to save face.

Sorry if this is the wrong section but I felt I needed to bring this to attention, there are a lot of people out of pocket that have been strung along and now they have gone bust I thought you guys should be aware of it.

Let me start by saying I don't know this company and have no involvement with it.

It would be nice if you are going to call out a company and make claims about them to have some sort of evidence to back it up.

All it took is one minute to find the Trustpilot for the company which has from what I can see, received updates from the company this month to some of the complaints, with answers to why people have been waiting etc and it does not look good on their part to give sporadic updates and for some it would appear not "meaningful" updates, which they even point out themselves it is not good enough.

They also claim to have been a "victim" of a cyberattack in July, how true this is I don't know, also suffering like many retailers did with supply issues of gpu's, and if they are as small as I would think they are, I can somewhat understand them struggling to get hold of GPU's when even the likes of Scan and OCUK had trouble and they are 2 of the biggest retailers for PC Components in the UK.

They also have said they cannot issue refunds due to restrictions places upon them, I suspect the company is going bankrupt/insolvent and has had a insolvency agency appointed to try and either save the company or recover as much funds as possible for repayment to customers and also companies owed money (these will get the largest sum).

This is the message from their site.

"A message from Opsys
Due to recent, unforeseen circumstances that impacted our operations, we have no option but to suspend trading while we explore potential options to save the company.

Our immediate priority is to support any customers with unfulfilled orders. Due to restrictions placed upon us, we are currently unable to process refunds directly. We therefore strongly advise affected customers to immediately contact their bank or credit card provider to initiate a chargeback citing the reason "non-delivery of a product/service purchased in-advance."

We have contacted affected customers with assistance to claim back their funds and we will communicate in due course with further developments regarding the company’s future.

We sincerely apologise for the distress caused.

Liam Moore – OPSYS CEO"

That hardly seems like a company trying to run away from it's issues and leaving customers with no options and no help.

It sucks for the people who have placed an order through them, who have been sat waiting for a pc and potentially are now out hundreds or thousands of pounds, unfortunately this is a risk we all take when we purchase something especially when it's from a small boutique build firm like it seems Opsys are/were.

If those customers affected are able to claim the money back through the bank and get it back in full then they can go to other companies like Scan and OCUK and whilst they won't be as "Luxury" or "Custom" as Opsys offered at least they will receive them fairly quickly and have good support after.
