got a hang up when playing a game, tried running '05 at stock settings & gettings interesting shapes all over the screen.

hmm

now it wont boot into windows.

guess Ive fried one or possibly both gfx cards.

Easy thing to do here - take the one card out to see if the other still works.

Easiest to take the top one out 1st as you can still run the bottom one with SLI switched on.

If that works great, then put the other card in the bottom one, if that works great because what it means is that your windows driver is corrupt - time to run rescue disk or re-install.

If you been playing with the BIOS then you need to reload the original also.

I found that if you take the cards out and put them back again - that sometimes helps clear the issues. Even if the card appears borked, it might not be.

Hope it's not bad news.

looks like its defo a card,

windows installed again no probs & was fine until i enabled SLI.

will have to strip off the water blocks & back to air for testing..

I fooked a 6800U once, my pump in my w/c loop stopped, and the Peltier heated up so much the pipes exploded! Tried it after I sorted the loop, and it appeared that it had suffered core damage.

I tried the card a week later under air, it worked fine! So I stuck it back under the TEC, and it has been performing even better since...

...You never know, it may be okay in a weeks time or so! There must be some logic behind it somewhere?!

its defo one of the cards. I put the aircoolers back on em

one boots fine into windows, overclocks & runs 3d apps no probs.

the other boots into windows & has some unusual colours on the screen, lines of pixels missing etc.

Give it a day to "dry out" as such mate you might be lucky! Any ideas what's happened? I'm reading quite a few horror stories regards cards giving up.

I had it on rivatuner, tested the OC which passed.

then went to **** after that

had a hang up so tried 05 & it died.

cant remember mate, not very high though.. under 230 core & 1400 mem..

hey at least my pile of scrap GFX cards is growing nicely !
