Well, coz of the unique way the current batch of ASUS boards stop and start and restart, to protect the mach unit (from too many stops and starts) I hooked it up to a separate PSU.

I came back last night from a 2 days sales meeting and (although hungover and very tired) decided to run a few easy benchies (superpi, 01 and aqm3) all of which I did improve upon previous efforts.

However, I Shut the system down last night, you might already have guessed it..................................I forgot to shut down the mach :$

Got up this morning and noticed the EVAP was reporting -75degrees (which was nice) and realised that with no heater elements used on the current set-up I was in trouble after 10hours of -75 on no load at all.

So I think I need to strip it all down and check for condensation etc before I carry on - of course if I do that I will probably take the mach off and go back to watercooling - meaning the current batch of scores is all I will be entering, even though there is more to give, I am trying to find a balance between family life, benching and World Of Warcraft.

Anyhooo, will fire it up later, if it starts up no problems them great I will bench some more, if I get any random issues and I have to strip down, thats it for this set-up.

Did you use dialetic grease on the socket and rear of the socket??

I hope you havent lost anything, I lost a P5B due to condensation or something??

I cut a piece of neoprene for the center of the socket and had neoprent well compressed at the back but no dilectric I am afraid.

Strip down is about to commence :(

Hope all will be OK M8, just strip down and leave in a warm place overnight to dry out, it should be OK as you did not power it up so nothing should have shorted out.

Dont be put off friend - I circum-navigated all the usual safeties that prevent such things from happening with MACH2 units - purely to satisfy my own impatience.

Phase cooling is great and reall does help you realise awesome performance.

Sure does if you have the right chip I have an x6800 es that wont go over 4.4 and a 6600 retail that wont go over 3.8 but then again I haven't volt modded yet:D

Pants!!

Tis deaded - RMA time.

This means the end of my benchmarking antics also - back to gaming but I think the results are encouraging for anyone wishing to go down this route.

Cheers

It happens to me a lot my friend - but then life on the overclocking ragged edge has its casualties - of course everyday is a school day and it's not often I blow things up the same way twice - this is embarassing as it was so very avoidable and just one little oversight. C'est la vie :)

Sorry to hear this bad news mav, i hope things get sorted soon M8, as then you can get back to what you do best.
