Old to NEW Liquid Cooled Rig

You're better off putting a thicker rad in and then just run in push or pull.

You may have noticed but... People at OC3D are very very anal about watercooling. Either do it right as in : clean, tidy, least amount of hosing as possible, silent, and aesthetically pleasing to the eye.. From you're pictures you have done the exact opposite. So that is why many people criticized you(not offensively of course). We just hate seeing money wasted.. Also judging by your pics you have not kept the system in good health nor your loops which is why they looked terrible. Distilled water is fine to use if kept up properly... I hope you are not offended. We only do it constructively.

I personally don't like the look of a thicker rad.

I didn't post on OC3D to be babied. I like criticism, prefer constructive but either one is fine.

Build 1 pics showed alot of bad choices, namly upkeep.

I will agree I wasted alot of money, and I work hard for it. But somtimes you got to break a few eggs before you can get it right. Paychecks later... I have a PC I love and am taking care of.

Distilled water didn't agree with me so I have Koolance LIQ-705 Liquid.

btw, not offended, and i appreciate your input.

With all them 6770s in the first rig. Are you PCTwin in disguise?

I had so many because I wanted better graphics. It failed and was a waste of money. I have a 7990 and i'm loving it. Got a PowerColor AX7990 6GBD5-2DHJ before the reference ones came out.

As long as it's done correctly then we won't care and give compliments or advice on what may have worked out better for next time or something we really liked and may try in the future... It's like a close group of really good friends here and we all help each other out. We helped you(more poorly than we should've but nonetheless) and hopefully you just do it better next time:p

I just cant understand why you've got one of the best cpu's on the planet and 32gb of ram and you're only gaming on it. You've wasted so much money dude :(

I use mine for gaming on single monitor( i personally hate multi-monitor gaming), photoshop and for work. I need to make a few upgrades on it and eventually watercool it but with a 9 month old daughter and 34 snakes to look after it takes me a while to save up the money.

I think NBD hit the nail on the head with what OC3D is about. We ent a community who is all about performance and benhmark numbers. We would much rather see an i3, hd7770 build that is epically tidy and well thought out and aesthetically pleasing than a quad titan build that looks terrible.

I don't like lag or waiting a long time for applications to load after i click them. I like to game at the best resolution posible, so i get the most visually out of it. I love eyefinity and you preference is your choice. I don't photo shop or video edit.

As for money. I have a 8yo daughter, a working wife, a factory job, and low bills. But this PC is by no means my first. My first was a $500 dell pc back when dialup was a thing. I've worked long and hard to get here and i'm proud of my build.

I don't, nor have the need to benchmark. My PC was build for performance, because I just hate waiting on a slow PC. You can have the best looking PC in the world, but if it has 20yo components in it then it isn't very useful as a PC. My case is now as tidy as possible. Been thinking of painting the case.

A 3770k, 8gb if fast ram ie 2133mhz and a fast ssd is by no means slow.
Pair that with 2 7970s or 2 770/780s and that would do everything that you need it too brilliantly. And you would have saved yourself over £1000

32gb of ram doesn't speed up much... An ssd on the other hand though will.

A RAM drive is 10x faster than an SSD, and RAM cache can even help speed up an SSD. And I have plenty to share.

Your right on the first part. But a 7990 is $700 (now), bout it at $1000, and 2 7970s are around $640+ and take up more room in the case (meaning more wiring), and 2 780s are $1,300+, and 2 770s are $800+. When you add value, performance, and space needed, the 7990 or 690 wins. My motherboard can supports 2 7970s or 2 7990s... hard choice...

Please don't have two 7990's. I might just cry.....

Speaking as a noob myself, making spending mistakes is part of the learning process when you have the cash. It's FUN to waste money on this hobby, as sick as that sounds. :D I'm sure if we all added up the money we spent badly on water cooling builds, we could all chip in and buy a Bugatti Veyron to share.

I'm not made of money, although it would be fun.

I got the PowerColor AX7990 6GBD5-2DHJ which is a non reference 7990 with 3 4-pin connectors. If I got 2 that would be 6 4-pin connector nightmare. But if I got 2 reference 7990s, they have 2 4-pin connectors each and they run cooler and run better. 4 4-pin connectors would be more managable.

I AGREE 1000% :beerchug:

13.8 Beta Drivers have been released. Try those and see how much better it is for your 7990.

Catalyat 13.8 doesn't support eyefinity or 4k resolution well.

for the cost of a 7990 i would have just got a titan and been done with it

Titan is a single GPU, 7990 is a dual GPU. If i was to go Nvidia I would go 780 or 2 780s SLI.

I like the appearance of the 690. Can't wait to see the 790.

Either way Nvidia isn't is very good at multi monitors 5760x1080. If they fix that, then maybe i might buy one in the future.
