Old PC hardware you miss the most

I was thinking earlier about a sound card I used to have that I really miss and then it got me thinking "I wonder what hardware other members used to have and now miss"

I used to own a Soundblaster X-Fi Elite pro back in the mid 00 when Creative made great sound cards. It had 3 modes, Gaming, Entertainment and Audio creation. I only used the first two.

The bundle came with the card, remote control and audio in/out console with volume controls etc. The bundle was around £200 when I purchased it.

It was a great card and it's a shame it came in PCI. Not sure if there was a PCI-e variant.

It's not that old yet but I mean... look at it, it's actually looks good!

Agreed, One of the Corsair cases ever made i only had two issues with the case 1. No USB 3 motherboard header, 2. should have been 2 120mm fans in the front not a 200mm fan

I still own my 650D and it's modded :D

In no particular order. My X32 (my first SSD)

My brain isn't working very well this morning so I can't even remember who made this but it was amazing. I had it in 2002. Pic is called Intergraph TDZ 2000. It had a 3Dlabs Wildcat in it.

This.

My Marlinspike (Intel MS440GX)

And huge Xeons.

The bogey.

My QDI dual P2 board.

My Dell XPS

I miss my old I7 950 but I will get it back at some point as I have lent it to a friend until he can get something sorted for himself, also my NZXT Switch 810 case which again has been lent to a friend along with my GTX660Ti but I don't expect to get the case and card back, since the guy who has borrowed them probably won't get his own parts for a few years.

I miss my old 3dFX Voodoo2 card.

Nothing made me more excited when I loaded a game and then you had that 3dfx logo pop up.

I also miss my Soundblaster Audigy 2 platinum card. To this day, it is the only ASIO sound card I have known that could handle 2 sources and play them simultaneously with zero lag.

e.g. you have itunes playing a song, at the same time as a program like guitar rig running allowing you to play the guitar alongside.

Xonar STX doesnt allow this, nor do onboard audios. Guitar rig overrides the settings and mutes itunes or whatever music source you use.

I miss my old AMD 1090T, it was a great CPU. I hope AMD can produce something that was that good again.

Maximus V Formula, after having a Sabertooth it seemed like impossibly high quality and so well paired with a 2600k. I can't really think of anything else that unequivocally good which I no longer have, my 760 Striker was good and I miss looking at my 780Ti Matrix Platinum however it didn't perform as well as the Lightning 780Ti's do.

Yeah, I planned an all black build in one for ages. Then it transformed into black and white, black white and green and eventually White Lotus cause I decided to go ITX and new hardware came out.

I still want to do that all black build tbh. Swap out the USB header for an internal one, mod the front to take 2x 120mm fans and then slap in a Z77 Sabertooth (or maybe a modded MPower), SLI GTX 660s, some black RAM, etc etc. Shame they're so expensive now cause only one shop here still sells it (for €170) Aaahh... a man can dream.

That's what i have done to mine, I have been trying to sell mine but here no ones wants a modded 650D, oh well.

I so miss this and i want them to make it again, but update the interior to today's specs, proper front intakes, dust filtered, removable hdd cages, good cable management and get rid of the optical bay's entirely.

Definitely dual Voodoo 2 GPUs, the fun getting them to work and being in that exclusive club at LANs was just epicness personified.

 you felt a right epeenis when you looked at your extensive games library and only 2 games worked in SLI.

Miss my old 8800GT, I had this super weird one from Inno3D which used to overheat after about 30 mins of gaming, so I would do this little circuit where I would play Oblivion for 30 mins, save, go away from pc for 5 mins, play another 30, rinse, repeat... something magically nosalgic about when I was young and doing that :D

I do love single slot cards for their looks.
