Oink.cd's Admin Arrested and Tracker Shut Down

Seems were all catching it here. The damned US is in this.

That suit is ongoing and contentious. Cooper ruled last May that TorrentSpy must begin saving the internet addresses and download activity of its U.S.-based users, and turning over the information to the MPAA in pretrial discovery. In response, TorrentSpy began blocking U.S. users, and made changes on its site to protect user privacy -- drawing a fresh burst of outrage in legal filings by MPAA lawyers earlier this month.

They are also after The Pirate Bay as well. I doubt Torrentspy will be taking a dive though.

I hardly use TorrentSpy for Music, and I don't use TPB either. I have used OiNK but I got banned nearly 6 months ago for my poor ratio. I shouldn't be worried, should I? Damnit...

Then again, the music I downloaded from OiNK was never really anything popular. (Some old .38 Special, some Billy Joel, ummm, maybe an AC/DC album?)

EDIT: Seems the only people they're really after are the donors and people with really good ratios. FragTek buddy I'd watch it! I know you used to be pretty high up there.

oink users should be really scared?

Neh, one thing they`d never do (even if they really wanted to) would be to seek out all downloaders.

Even with uploaders, it`s financially un-sound to seek out all the possible sources. Big sources, with a pit of cash behind them - they`re worth it, as as long as u follow through with a trial and win, u can recoup the costs.

Challenging 1000s of peoples who couldn`t afford to pay the costs would be like throwing money away. Even if some people do time in leu of cash, jail time costs again.

It`s all about monies, it`s not like hunting axe-murderers.

yea i agree.. it wouldn't be worth the money to track all the people down... and if they did start tracking people i think they would only get the highest ranked users.

I donated to them on a regular basis, and also uploaded over 500gb of data and downloaded nearly 300gb... Sad to see it go, and i'm not worried in the slightest to be honest. They have better things to do than track down the millions of members that Oink had.

With tv-links being shut down as well, i guess everyone will stop being copyright pirate then.

You think they'd find something better to do.

our nonsense is worse than overseas, which is why most sites are hosted in other countries with more lax laws.
