Office 2007 Beta up for grabs.

Been testing it for quite some time, the new interface looks pretty darn good but the last update I installed had some noticable glitches. I would imagine that this version here would probably have those sorted out for the most part if they are making it public.

I'll have a gander. Thanks mate!

I have been beta testing it since it was announed, I think that the UI could cause some serious problems in a biz environment since some are still using office 2000 and 97. I for the otherhand like it better.

That's going to be a problem, as they aren't offering an up to date alternative, so people in a biz environment won't have a choice (well either they update or stay in the past ;)).

Btw authentication isn't working atm .

Yeah mine wouldn't yesterday. Apparently people have been having problems activating it. Some have been able to this morning.

Mine didn't activate at all yesterday, but it did it fine an hour ago. :)

People are going to crack it and use it for unlimited time as a free office :rollingla
Whats the point... the retail version will be out by then, they might as well crack and use that ;).

Do you need to uninstall your current version of Office before installing this, or does the installer take care of all that business?

If it's an official version of office, yes. If it's a pre-release, no. Remeber that this is a beta, and there's a possibility of bugs in the software (not that there won't be in the retail version knowing ms :p).

Even from 2003 it's a stupidly large learning leap they are expecting everyday users to come to terms with. It will cost a lot in re-training and support for a company to implement this, not to mention reduced productivity whilst users find the new way to do things.

And it makes my 1024x768 screen crap.
