OCZ???

Is it just me or does OCZ really suck??

I won a 32GB OCZ Throttle USB drive from here a while ago, I think it retails for about 80 quid, I was really happy that I won it, performance seemed to be pretty damn fast to start with... After about 2 days of using it for a few transfers it had the red LED of death and wouldn't let me format it or anything...

Turned out there were a few users with the same issue on their RMA forums, applied for an RMA, paid about 7 quid to post it off abroad, got back a new one.

To be honest was a little bit scared of using it so has been in it's box mostly until today. Worked for one transfer now it's dead, Windows can't see it, can't format it... Nothing! Was trying to create a Windows 7 installation USB drive...

I would hate to buy anything from them with my own money.

Logged into their forums and all my previous posts have been deleted, can't seem to find an RMA forum anymore.

Looked online and TONS of people are having this issue! How can OCZ sell something so crap?

Think I'll just bin it! Not worth 7 quid more to return it to them or the time.

Don't get me wrong I can't thank Overclock 3D enough to have given me this prize but wish it was from another company!

/Rant off!

Edit: Why is this in humour lol, meant to be in rant..

Most OCZ stuff it pretty good. Don't get me wrong, I prefer other brands for most things, but for their pricing OCZ are not bad at all.

Occasionally all manufacturers produce something truly terrible. It seems OCZ have carried on selling it XD

Yeah, think I'll save the 7 quid and put it towards a decent Sandisk one. I'm sorry but I'm never buying anything from OCZ again, the RMA process was really bad too...

Ok rant off! Sorry about that lol..

Why do you think we dont review any OCZ stuff any more, they wont let us after we said their SSD's are utter crap if you use them long term.

ALWAYS hearing about stuff dieing and them being comeplete a-holes about rma'ing it.

I had some ram die and they replaced it with an SSD, mmmm that would have been very handy for a normal user wouldnt it.......

Just bin it and chalk it up to experience.

True mate, I see why they have this rep now, even when looking for new PSU's everyone said avoid! Something I will do for sure.

Cheers

im using OCZ reaper memory runs perfectly fine yet a mate had the same kit, he has RMAed his ram 3 times in the end he chucked them and bought some corsair.

i got mine from OneEyeUK he never had a problem with them.

cant belive how OCZ can carry on selling the dodgey usb drives.
