I woke up this morning, switched on my computer to find it hanging on:

"Loading Operating system......."

Nothing happens just stays there.

So i checked all connections and formatted the drive :@, it was working ok at first when the operating system loaded up for the first time but when i retarted it (after installing drivers), same thing happened.

"Loading Operating system......." its been on it for the past hour....... nothing.

Any ideas? its a Vertex 3 120GB SSD

Have you checked in bios, that the vertex3 is first boot drive?

Yes it is the first boot drive, the only way it will boot is if i select the drive from the boot options. otherwise if i just restart the computer and let it boot up on its own it just hangs...

weird right!

Thats a real pain in the .....

Have you tried to use the w7 installer disc to repair system.Have tried that myself, and it worked fine.

But i also once used a 2.5" 320gb as bootdrive in a desktop build, and it sometimes did return to slave-drive mode, and it need primery drive prefix to run as first boot drive. It was a spare drive from a laptop,as 2nd drive.Never use it as boot anymore.

Maybe this could be helping you with your boot troubles.

I tried all of that but nothing works!

atm though i just switched sata ports and it "seems" like its doing the trick! fingures crossed. now im in the annoying process of re-installing windows 7 :/

check firmware version and flash to latest if you havent already. But unfortunately its probably the same as thousands of other OCZ users are having the controller on the ssd doesnt like the controller on ur mobo. Been an issue for sometime now. Supposedly the firmware update helps but doesnt 100% fix it.

I did flash it once before but I need another computer to do it.

No worries everyone I switched ports and it's working ok so far. Using the intel sata3 ports

Sin you are very right, everyone seems to be having issues with these drives. I just hope this doesn't happen again especially durin my second semester at Uni.

Thanks for you help!
