OCZ join forces with PC Power & Cooling

Thats a good point and totally true yes.

But i would hope the high end psu maunfs would have taken this into account and added a little more juice (or the ability too add, POTS ftw) to their modular supplies.

+ by that reasoning we should all solder our psu weirs directly too the components to cut out that resistance. Which is unpractical and frankly stupid.

All about personal preference i spose. Unbridled power vs not having too tidy un-unnecessary wires

Ye but a lot of PSU manufacturers just use the same parts for both

In an ideal world :p

Aye tis indeed but I'd rather have solid and stable tbh

IMO modular is fine if done correctly.

In its worst form, manufactures use molex connectors at both ends - and lets face it, molex pretty much sucks for decent connectivity.

In the middle is the manufacturers that use PCI-E plugs - much more rugged with better connectivity but still mediocre.

And at the top is Hiper and now Tagan with the screw-in style modular plugs. No room for movement, much better connectivity and pretty ideal for high-powered units.

there should be perhaps 4 wires coming out of the psu

well, 6

2 for PCI-E

one for the mainboard

one 4 pin

one sata,

one molex

and one floppy

then any others, need to be added onto them, so they're all hard wired into the psu, and you just add however many you need onto them. :D

We hope to have PC Power & Cooling products listed at several UK e-tailers next week and stock is not too far away either, will keep you updated ;-)

fantastic!

sounds like an awesome move if it all goes to plan.

u can't by any chance gimme a shout if the pcp&c Silencer 750 Quad-Blk is gonna be in the uk within the next 6 months could u?

otherwise i'll go fork out £200 on an import unit...

I have yet to have a power problem with my Ultras. They use the molex to molex connection and i dont have any problems with it. Honestly, i think its just preference and i prefer to have a tidy case for max aifflow.

Prices should be out end of next week and around that time they should aslo be listed with UK etailers so no need to wait 6 month or import ;-)
