OC3D PSU Tester Upgrade :)

Since getting the new OC3D PSU tester, the main downfall has been the lack of connectors available for plugging in PCI-E and SATA cables. I've been getting around it by using a series of adapter cables and other nicknacks...but today was enough..

The original PSU tester....notice the connector plate (bottom left):

What a mess of cables behind the plate...

After marking all of cables so I had a record of what they were for, a lot of unsoldering, and the connector plate is free from the tester:

Solder in the new 'mysterious' modular panel:

Even more soldering to add the voltage sensors. At this point the day was almost over:

Screw the modular connector into place:

But the PCB was bulging with all the cables behind. So time to add an aluminium plate in front ;)

Aaaaand there we go. Sorry I didnt have more pics but I'd still be doing it now if I had :p

So in future all PSU testing will be easier for me and I can now plug in pretty much every connector.

Yeah, I was remembering the thread about silverstone connectors too :p I guess you managed to get your hands on one? :p

Got to have guts though, doing that on such an expensive tester.

Yeah I did crap myself a few times. Especially when it kept turning off whenever I plugged a PSU into it first of all lol. Should give some even more accurate results now though :D

I demand you start blowing stuff up!

Or at least a little fire? :D

Maybe I should start my own TV show where I go round to peoples houses and blow up the PSU's in their Dell's and other equally as sh*t OEM PC's :p

"And to think this could of happened while my family was asleep upstairs. Oh thank you PSU Slayer Jim"
