Hi there guys , firstly i am not a 3D guru nor an artist so following result has been obtained thru many tutorials etc so dont judge the renders if you are a 3D guru or CG artist :)

As you all know we are missing award logos for Overclock3D.net so since last week i ve been busy trying to come out with something nice and end up with so many sketches :) Below is one of the test renders for gold award. The layout will be same for the Silver and Bronze awards just rendered in silver and bronze. Now dont ask me why i came up with such a shape as thats not what i had in my mind so still working on the shape also i still have few more ideas on the shape.

Flame Shaped as XMS wanted.

As Dav0s requested

List of awards i can think of are:

  • Gold Award
  • Silver Award
  • Bronze Award
  • Hot Product
  • Recommended
  • Editors Choice
Final results will be adjusted to final size to fit in with the website. We could also add product names on the award and re-render them, anyway before i start with the other renders your thoughts / opinions / suggestions / feedbacks are important.

 Speechless

Sweet job Tec!!!

The only suggestion i'd have for that is maybe put it inside some kind of beveled circle.

I can provide you with the OC3D font if you like, and maybe we could team up to sort out a logo for OC3D that we could also put on the awards?

For the border i was thinking of doing that in PS so we could combine site colours on the outer borders.

Yes sure you can send the font to me i ll use that , as for the logo i have another design on paper , which has same shape above but not the inside objects , only outside panels with OC3D in the middle connected to outer panels. If you have anything in mind draw it in 2d and send it over. :)

how about insted of that strange funk shape thing, you have the OC3D logo on top of the stand?

and im not sure the award should read 2006, means we have to edit the bugger every year. :D

can we have a head on view please? i wanna see what it looks like. and leave the by tec bit out lol, if u didnt want us stealing your work, you shouldnt have posted it for us to use!

Well until its officially used in OC3D i rather have some kind of text at the background so no other sites uses it before its officially used in OC3D and by tec is just because of that never thought what you thought Dav0s as i ve been working nearly 1 week for these and it is for OC3D so why would i think you would steal it , silly :P :)

As for the logo XMS suggested a flame logo or shape , still open to suggestions :)

LOL.... IMO that looks quite a bit different, but then a flame is a flame is a flame. You cant make a flame look much different than .... a flame

How about something similar to this:

I would Photoshop or Fireworks it but paint on this work PC wouldn't be as good I doubt ;)

I like the triangle and the lightening :)

I like the lightning bolt.

Seems a bit plain, unless We can get a really funky one done. Any other ideas?

What else can be associated with overclocking?

if u can give me an idea as to what you want i'll model it....(within limits)

dav0s has me on msn so he can pop me a line

a fan , heatsink , a block of ice (representing cooling + cool item)

we could really angle towards the cool side of things (opp of flame LOL)

prehaps even a thermomoter showing the mark outt 100 ?

maybe an excerpt of a graph (with a steep gradient?)
