OC3D Article: OC3D Welcomes Yoyotech

NICE TO BE HERE !

The bit that Richard left off was that he travelled almost 4 hours to be with us - so we're really glad he enjoyed his visit :)

Apologies for not posting earlier - but things have been really hectic with the advent of teh new i7 processors - as well as a ton of new graphic cards

We're glad that the profile included so many pictures - it really gives you a feel for the place

Central London is dominated by Tottenham Court Road - spanning Centre Point to (almost) Euston...

...as it includes every kind of computing and electronics store - from hardcore Apple houses like Micro Anvika right down to PC World

Whenever we encourage enthusiasts to step 20 metres off Tottenham Court Road - just down Windmill Street - into the store... they are (usually) blown away by what we carry

If you are lucky enough to live within commuting distance of Scan, then they are great...

...but we'd like to think that, if you are within a 30 minutes train ride of Central London, then YOYOTech is the only place to come :)

e.g. CK has had a £700 Smooth Creations Cooler Master Stacker for over a year - and been offered cash a lot of times for the 'display model' - but won't sell cos the customers love seeing/touching it so much

That's just one example

We also work hard to get kit in early - around launch

I'd be prepared to bet that no other store in London had +100 4870 cards on their shelves the day that the NDA lifted

Our guys are enthusiasts themselves - and always playing with the technology themselves

If you get a chance and find yourself anywhere near town, then please pop W1T 2JL into Google and pay us a visit... free lollypops all round !

:wavey:

horay! finally, a shop who knows what they're on about! :p

i wish i had some decent comp shops around my area :(

london is a little too much on the bad side of 3 hours away for me :(

Wow.

Just Googled Bridlington.

If I were you (and looking for a local store) I'd probably go for Paul and the team at QuietPC - decent folks and Yorkshire-based :)

aye, they are good, but still a bit far

the neerest dedicated computer hardware shop is in scarborough ( about an hour away ) and they think that AMD phenoms are the best thing since sliced bread...

they only stock a couple of intel's, and they're all prescott based...

asmuch as i wish that was true....its not...and they dont know half of what they're on about

when i enquired about a hard drive for my laptop, i got "the biggest hard drive currently made in the 2.5" format, is 250Gb, anything higher is not commercially available at the moment" ....

aka they just dont stock it...as i had reterned a 500 gb to scan the other day, because it was a few mm too tall

yorkshire and technology just dont go :(

...but they ARE very friendly :)

Gotta give em something for trying

Also, I think Yorkshire is the home of Solwise - guardians of 'networking in your house over the mains circuits'...

...so at least some technology is originating there :)

lol, maybe out in the sticks isnt quite as doomed as i thought ... :p

we could still do with a proper, local tech shop though...

You think its bad for you!

I live in a little village 1 hour away from the closest pc store, an that's PC world!

The best thing I could find was and 8500gt 256mb and a 2ghz celly... :(

If I wanted anything decent I'd need to go 4 hours away :p

Thank the internet and snail mail cheap delivery!

I took a train across Scotland once and realised that, once you come out of the main cities, you don't find so many people !

Note: I also realised that the place names we've heard of down south are the only ones we can actually pronounce
