OC vs lower latencies

ok so here my dilemma

My ram is rated 6400 and is meant to do 800 mhz ,

According to cpu z it can do 266 mhz 4-4-4-10

and 400 mhz 5-5-5-15 so theoracticall if i put my latencies to 5-5-5-15 i should be able to get 400*9 =3.6 ghz easily with 1.5 vcore . Is that the case ?

It is said lower latencies are better for games , but will a 300 mhz increase in the cpu (currently @ 366 * 9 4-4-4-10) make up for the higher latency

Increase in CPU speed and ram speed will make up for higher latencies me thinks. Try and benchmark both settings using 3DMARK06, Aquamark 3 and the games that u play.

I Remeber this was one of the first Questions i posted here .... eventually i just Benched it

IME on the Ath-XP platform higher RAM clockspeed gives a better performace that lower latencies .. there is also a article hidden on tomshardware sumwer take a sneeky peeky there

hmm probs , i tried @ 5-5-5-15 400 * 9 v ram 2.3 vcore 1.5 no succes i tried 395*9 390 * 9 still no succses in booting , put it back 367*9 4-4-4-10 vram 2.25 vcore 1.5 chipset 1.65

anytips ? i really dont want to push vcore more temps are like 48 -50 idle and 68 is peaking load :o

But on C2D more bandwidth and higher clockspeeds is king :)

tis what i was saying ye skurvyyy dog (im in piracy mode)

thall the bouty shall belong 2 me !!
