Hello

I have a Sapphire HD4870 (Stock one) and I have overclocked it from 750Mhz Core to 801Mhz Core and Memory speed I have left alone, when I play any of my games it runs fine, faster and smoother but when it comes to playing on Forged Alliance / Supreme commander after 30 minutes or more with 6+ players I get a black screen and then the fans jump up from 40 / 50% up to 80 - 100% and I was just wondering if there is something wrong with it and is there any way I can get it to go to 80-100% fan speed too cool it down rather than letting it crash or something :/

Yeah, try MSI afterburner. Great app, can set up a custom curve on the fan speed related to temps... Can also overclock in there and change voltages, so maybe try a little extra voltage.

Also try Stress testing the GPU with GPUtool, that will give you a good indication if you have a good OC...

Does sound more like a driver issue tho... Do you have the latest drivers etc? If not, would suggest a clean install.. Ie, uninstall, driver sweeper, fresh drivers.

Sounds like a driver issue since it only malfunctions while in Forged Alliance / Supreme commander

Try doing a driver sweep (you could use Driver Cleaner) and then a fresh install

I have updated my drivers and got MSI Afterburner, very nice to use although I cannot adjust the voltage, I have turned on the settings allowing me to adjust voltage and restarted etc but it still won't let me adjust
