PAGE 3 FOR FINISHED BUILD

Havnt quiet thought of a name for this yet but anyhoo, here goes!

So i recently purchased a Switch 810 from Corban ( Thanks again Great guy! )

First Thing i did when i got it home was strip it down for working on:

So to start this thread off here is the first mod i have done & not the last either! Hope you like

And fitted to the front panel:

And then fitted onto the case to see how it looked:

Im quite happy with how it turned out! The next step is to fit some mesh to it and finish it off nicely!

Ive also got some custom colour braided cables coming from the States from a member on here to suit the rig perfect.

The Theme here will be White, Black & Blue.

Im still deciding on wether to paint all the mesh a Blue colour. A blue the same as my profile picture is what i had in mind!

I also need a name for this as im planning on a few logos to suit and would like to stick the name of the rig on the front panel. All suggestions welcome!

Interesting to see you decided on a sheet of acrylic for the front panel, it looks pretty cool.

As for a name, are you planning to name it after something or just to make up the name from scratch?

just any Name that suits, doesnt have to be after anything.

The front panel is actually the stock panel you get, i used a router table on it to make the shape.

Oh, well it looks good mate, some LED's should light it up real nice too.

Got a load of stuff coming from specialtech tomorrow.

Got some cathodes, need to solder/fit some Sleek switches into the case for them.

Going with Mayhems pastel on this. Might swap to Bitspower compression fittings, they dont look too bad i think.

Handy having every vinyl under the sun at my work so ive got a blue picked out which il use as an accent to the case in places.

This morning i cut the mesh for the front panel

Which fitted nicely on top and inside the little ridge on the back of the panel

There was no need to fix the mesh down in anyway as the standoffs hold it in place nicely with no movement, which is great because it means it can just be taken in and out easily if need be!

And fitted to the front panel

And the case as it is at the moment

My next step is to work on the roof panel, or rather re-create the roof panel completely.

I may try and find something to black-out the mesh on the front panel without restricting the airflow too much, i think it would look neater, any idea's?

Build is coming along nice, good to see all these Switch mods going on lately, TTL is doing one as well which sounds interesting

To black out the mesh, and I now this might sound weired but i've seen it done before, use some thin black women's tights over the back of the mesh.

Well, I did a bit more routering today but not sure if it was worth it or not.

Basically i cut an entirely new top plate out of white acrylic. The only downside i dont like (and i knew this before i started) is that its just a slightly different white compared to the moulded plastic NZXT white. And i also didnt think before i started because the lines are going differently to the front plate lol

So im not sure wether i will use this or not :/

Its slightly larger at the right hand end if you noticed. This is so i can glue on clips so it actions exactly the same as the original top plate.

I also started adding some blue around the front area, but im not sure about it yet, i might take it off and redo it a little better

Yeah i did the same thing with mine and after making 3 new top panels i ended up modding the one that came with the case cus they just didnt quite look right. Also i think the lines look right that way. Yes they are not the same direction as the front panel but if you look pre mod they dont go in the same direction anyway.
