NZXT Expands their Phantom line

NZXT computer cases were hit and miss for the longest time, praised for innovative design but criticized for skimping on quality. All that changed when they released their full tower "Phantom" case which took PC gamers and reviewers by storm, managing to rake in an impressive 50 awards for it's design, features and performance. Now it looks that NZXT wish to build upon this success and have announced the "Phantom 410"; A mid tower brother to the original phantom.

Though, at a glance, not much has changed, at closer inspection we find that the size is not the only thing that separates the original Phantom from the 410. The left side panel now boasts a window that was sorely missing in the original, the case has built in support for top mounted 240mm radiators for water-cooling, there is now dual USB 3.0 support for the front panel and they've included an "Adjustable interior pivot 120mm/140mm fan slot for directional air flow"; Certainly good stuff here

However, Due to the reduction in size there have also been some trimmings over the original phantom's features, for example the fan controller is now a "three speed" design and there is no longer support for individual fan control and the case no longer supports 200mm+ fans.

Will this new Phantom impress as much as it's big brother? I, for one, can't wait to find out!

I like the design of the Phantom but it's to plastic for my liking, i'd like to see a aluminum/steal version though.

It looks good, but I think they have missed a few tricks.

The original door hinged at the front which was a really good feature and sadly this has gone - back to closing the case suitcase style - shame.

You'll only be able to put a skiny rad in it, according to another review a 60mm one won't fit - again shame.

Lastly and certainly not least why oh why oh why did they not just have a lovely simple complete window on the side panel instead of that freaking mesh.

I'm still using my original Phantom - not sure I'll swap it for this though.

I went for the original Phantom, partially because of the design but mainly due to the hype.

I wasn't overly impressed with it in terms of quality, noise or dust and even the temps weren't that great.

This looks like it may be improved a bit but as I need a full tower I may be making a spec me thread pretty soon.

have to say the window is a really good addition,

BUT

its only 20£ cheaper than its bigger brother, i personally would take the old phantom over this one as this one is a tad to plasticky

The old one is equally as plasticky.
