nVIDIA’s Fermi Finally Faces Front – Almost

Here's some images of fermi (GTX 480), although certain parts were censored by nvidia.

The chip is over 500mm2 and is the A2 revision although there's an A3 revision out there somewhere.

There's 12 memory chips on board which are probably 128MB a piece totalling 1,5GB.

For power it uses 1 8-pin connector and 1 6-pin connector and it has 2 SLI connectors.

It has 2 DVI connectors and one mini-hdmi connector.

Images found on Tweakers.net and this post is pretty much a summary and english translation of their news article.

Looks like a very hot card, those heatpipes sicking out the top of the card!! I think nVidia has missed the boat with this generation of cards, 6 months is too long to wait for most enthusiasts.

Even longer till shops will have proper stock.

At first only 5k will be made which barely seems enough to feed the reviewers.

Keeps the prices high. Where is Rasta when you need to remind him off stuff he said would never happen?

i think the card in the review is 1 of the mid range cards probably and not 1 of the larger cards i mean that photo in the news article showed it only havin 1 hdmi port?

He's still about, checking for bs like this being posted from time to time.

I have a 8800GTX/Ultra on my desk that is identical to those photos ;)

I think limited early numbers is either to keep the prices and demand high or they are still having yeild problems, maybe both. No BS there really.
