NVIDIA Tesla C1060 or 970?

Hello, i am looking for advice on which would be the best for simulations for a software called "realflow". I have found a tesla for sale at £100 so if it could compete i would go with that but the 970 is a lot newer so could potentially be a lot more efficient. There isn't a lot of information about the tesla on hardware websites so its hard to find comparable info. Thanks.

As far as I can see, the 1060 is a GTX280. Your program uses OpenGL acceleration so I'd hazard a guess that the 970 would be significantly faster, despite it being a GTX.

Wow i didn't realise it was that old, ill stick with the 970 then, i might have a look at a 780 too because they are very similar performance. Cheers.

I'd not bother looking at a 780. The 970 is going to get faster, IIRC its as fast as a 780Ti currently.

Which is the best make of 970 to go for? I have seen a lot of MSI 970s for around £220

Depends what you want from it IMO. If you want a solid all rounder (and don't mind red) than MSI's Twin Frozr gaming gets my vote.

Otherwise, get the one with the GTX 980 PCB/cooler (as it looks the best IMO) or if you want weird, wonderful and potentially mad overclocking capability get an Inno DHS Herc x4 (they do a cheaper one that is practially the same except not as highly binned).

I'm sure others will reccomend Asus and EVGA too

Ill probably go for the MSI Twin Frozr gaming as it is the cheapest, it will be in a closed case so i don't really mind about looks. Thanks for the help. :)
