Nvidia reveals its RTX 3090, RTX3080 and RTX 3070 graphics cards with incredible pric

Wow, those 3070 and 3080 cards look fantastic. I'm very surprised. I genuinely believed the 3070 would be around $650 and the 3080 around $850. AMD is going to have a hard time beating those prices methinks.

The 3090 on the other hand seems to be Nvidia's current halo product. Whether they release a Titan or 3090Ti or whatever, it doesn't matter. That thing is still absurd in every way.

There will be a Titan card but it is not in NVidia's interests at the moment to highlight this and take sales away from the 3090.

Yeah the implication in the stream seemed to be that this was the new Titan, referencing it directly before announcing the 3090. That naming scheme should have died long ago tbh.

Such strong real world performance gains from relatively smaller Tflops games just implies this is quite a big step forward architecturally. Guess the pricing is due to them expecting AMD's "2080Ti Killer" to be going for a $700-ish price, it'll be interesting to see how things stack up, even these relatively low prices on the "gaming cards" might not last more than a month or two.

I think calling the Titan the 3090 makes sense when there will be a 4090 ect in future only so many times you can call something a Titan before you run out of different addons to the name so it keeps it simple for future cards.

Yeah, the Titan moniker was fun while it lasted. XX90 makes far more sense now that people have moved on from dual GPUs.

ill probably buy a 3090 just for the sake of it. Perks of a disposable income. That all comes down to the Norwegian price though. If its gonna be 20k or more, then I'm not touching it.

Currently conversion puts it around 13000nok which is less than what I paid for the 2080ti.

im still rocking the same PC I had since the 7700k release. So ive only upgraded the GPU. And a 2080ti easily sells for 10k here.

3000 kroners for an upgrade of this proportion (resting on reviews) is chump change for me.

It will probably be less for me, since 2080ti sell so damn easily. And mine trumps nearly everyone on the market. Throw in the waterblock on top, which wont be free add in, and I reckon ill get 11k. It all rests on the retail price of the 3090 though. We pay stupid import taxes so it could be a nasty price hike.

Even now, the gaming X trio that I own is 15000nok retail.

Should benchmarks concur the performance stated for the 3070 and 3080, I'll eat plenty of humble pie given their price tags.
Although, I will definitely sit tight until Big Navi comes to see price/perf is like there before I jump.

They will probably just stick with the Super Branding they started with Turing. Ti might just be dead now.

Very risky promise, have you forgot what a proper generational leap(With node shrinks) looks like? DigitalFoundry are getting real world numbers showing the 3080 to be 80-100% faster than a 2080, easy to forget Turing's gains were essentially completely from architecture changes.

Either way, with the way games are going, even if a 2080Ti beat a 3080 in games today, as AAA games moves towards using more DX12 Ultimate features due to the consoles, the gap between Turing and Ampere is going to grow rapidly, much like with Turing vs Pascal when games began making use of the wide ranging architectural changes in Turing.

You may want to go watch Digital Foundries overview video as they have an actual 3080 to test, The 3080 is showing to be around 80% faster than a 2080, In some cases 100%, So that would be roughly around 40-50% faster than a 2080 Ti, You have to remember this is a proper generational performance improvement that we were used to getting every gen, Kepler>Maxwell>Pascal and with the 2080 we saw a generational performance improvement that was genuinely not worth it and very disappointing.

This is the first time since the 1000 series launch that we have gone back to getting real generational leaps in performance.
