Nvidia reveals its RTX 3090, RTX3080 and RTX 3070 graphics cards with incredible pric

2080 Ti performance for $499. This is really exciting. I hope AMD is up to compete with this. Time to replace my RX 480.

Holy bannanas. 3090 is the BFGPU.

Wow I guess I was completely wrong, A pretty huge performance upgrade over the 2080 Ti with the 3080 for significantly less, Colour me impressed, Now to wait on AMD.

Be careful. Then again, at £460 odd I suppose there's not too much risk.

Looking at the raw Tflops and ignoring the RT and tensor cores (which are for RT and DLSS, something lots of games do not support) the 3090 has 36 Tflops. The 3080 has 30 and the 3070 has 20.

The 2080Ti has 28.5.

In raw Tflops it is about 20%. So 2x the performance? BS.

Look at the number of CUDA Cores. It is humongous.

Well they never said it was 2 x the perf of the 2080 Ti which is what I'm comparing it to, Now I'm not sure what a "Shader TFLOP" is but I cannot see this being standard FP32, They are likely counting FP16 to inflate their numbers.

RTX 3090 - 328 TMUs, 96 ROPs, Pixel Rate 162.7 GPixels/s, Texture Rate 556.0 GTexels/s https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/geforce-rtx-3090.c3622
RTX 2080 Ti - 272 TMUs, 88 ROPs, Pixel Rate 136.0 GPixels/s, Texture Rate 420.2 GTexels/s https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/geforce-rtx-2080-ti.c3305
+20%, +9%, +19.6%, +32%

Look at the truth.

Not being funny, but it all sounded way too good to be true. Turns out? it will be.

A shader is a CUDA core. So raw Tflops on the core (and not using any trickery from the other tensor and RT cores) = RWP, or real world performance.

Everything Jen says will be relevant to RT and DLSS. Everything, as that is what these cards do.

So, you have one game between now and Xmas to look forward to these boosts, and that is COD Cold War.

Have fun

It's long been known these cards would kick the 2080Ti's ass in RT AND DLSS. And he has played up to his public once again with nothing more than vapor. Where are the statistics? he can say whatever he likes.

The 980 was supposedly twice as fast as the 780Ti. And it was in one thing, that had absolutely nothing AT ALL to do with RWP or gaming. People bought it hook line and sinker.

It has also become quite clear he has done these prices and so on due to the consoles. The Tflops on the SEX are very, very impressive for what seems like a cut down big Navi. And he knows it.

NVidia are having a laugh...

£1400 for a basic Founders Edition 3090 and it is not even the top card, the Titan will be along in a few months time.

This is a card that really should be filling the old 1080 Ti price point.

As to the design that is a joke too, 313mm long and triple slot this is bigger than anything AMD have produced in a long time.

I think it's a win tbh the prices are in line the performance is up, but benchmarks and reviews are needed tom get the test rig ready :D

But I now want to hear solid info from amd.

tbh the 3070 is most likely enough for me but for the extra it seems worth going to a 3080 at these prices, but I do hope we see AMD info soon still going to wait it out before I decide, but these prices mean even if AMD are faster they can't really overcharge.

I really did expect price jumps so this is a win win for everyone even if you fully intend to go AMD.

There will be many games with DXR and I want a new GPU for Cyberpunk 2077 be it nvidia or amd there will be many more games until now DXR has been Beta and anyone that brought the 2000 series to use it has been a tester.

I think Nvidia were worried both from the console sales and navi, but this is a win win them prices could have been higher, but i do kinda feel bad for anyone trying to sell a 2080ti now cause it's not worth much any longer.

AMD is screwed. That's basically what I got from this

3070 is best value for money so far, but I'm more interested in the 3080 for 1440/240hz gameplay... Tough choice

Like I said just be careful.

As for those selling 2080Tis? they are stupid. Totally stupid. Most did so before Jen talked his crap, let alone have any idea of the RWP.

Selling a 2080Ti and going for a 3080 is a side grade, and will likely break them even or maybe cost them more money. It's totally not worth it.

I love how Jen talks so much poo he makes people think that what they have is utter crap. Just crazy.

Back here on earth? every game I load up on my rig batters against the 144hz wall at 1440p. So he can shove his BS back from whence it came.

Playing Minecraft faster or Control (which I didn't like at the RT is off putting and distracting) doesn't make me terribly excited.

There. Cold light of day. The first two? you can completely ignore. Mostly because they use RT and DLSS, and we already knew that they would be improved.

The last one? let's look at that. The game ran *so bad* on PC I bought it on Xbox 1x, as I actually wanted to play it. Without all of the bugs, slowdown and crashes.

However, do note he has carefully cherry picked the 2080 and NOT the 2080Ti to compare it to. Why?

Like I said, just be very very careful. Also note he has ran all of the benches at 4k. Where DLSS and RT and so on make the biggest difference.

Real world benchmarks much needed.

Clearly all the reported benefits are best case scenarios, with all 3 core types in use.

Expect much MUCH smaller gains on 'regular' titles. And remember, they are 95% of the games out there !!!

It's obviously it's DXR performance he's talking about when comparing the cards.

But DXR/DX12 Ultimate is now going to be mainstream so you need to accept that real world performance takes that into account, when the consoles launch and DXR is in most every game how long do you really think it's going to be before it's a requiered feature of a card to even play it at all.

Times are changing, but like anyone I'll want to see benchmarks from both sides with DXR on and off, but trust me DXR will be needed and there are many games not just a few pretty much most of what is coming is going to use DXR.

Doesn't matter, Open that wallet Kaap ^_^

I'm surprised at the 3070/3080 pricing. I thought they would be higher. For me the 3090 is ridiculous, but at first glance is the only upgrade that's worth it from the 2080 Super. No way in hell I'm doing that though. Looking forward to real world benchmarks and rumors of the 3080 Super ;).

There won't be a Super if AMD do little.

I am surprised at the pricing. Then again, I was also surprised at the Xbox 1SEX spec. I would imagine this is very strongly to combat that. Note how they have launched right now, given prices right now etc.

However... From what I can see? these cards target what the new consoles target. IE, 4k 60. So, when you consider the 3080 costs more than one of these new consoles? yeah.

I'm not going to be all negative. If you game at 4k and you have a 2080 it's a nice upgrade. The 3080, of course. I can't see the 3070 hanging in there for long with 8gb VRAM.

This is all good. Very good for every one. However, so will the new consoles be.

I have £700 in my bank account ATM. Been so busy playing with crappy old stuff and bikes and making NAS that the cash has quickly piled up. I just don't want any more hardware.

None of this is going to make my 2070, 2070 Super nor 2080Ti less relevant (given I target 1440p) and it only really sounds exciting for 4k users. Nothing else has been shown because let's face it, none if it will matter.

Absolutely everything I have played on my GPUs, including Control on the 2080Ti and Metro Exodus @ 1440p with RT maxed have given me any issues at all. So why would I be that excited?

It's only RT and DLSS that are making the 1080 look irrelevant here. However, even that still performs very well.

It's more and better games I want. Not uber fast GPUs to smash out the ones we already have.
