Nvidia or AMD?

650ti = crap. 650ti BOOST edition = good.

SLI works very well but I would avoid Crossfire until AMD get their act together.

You should have enough there to get a pair of 650ti BOOST cards.

NVIDIA is better, smarter and company with better vision of this story.

GTX 650Ti Boost Superclocked with 1072 GPU Clock.
But I always like one card more.
Some good GTX670 OC(350-370e) is almost like GTX680 and less problem.
OK today SLI work much better, but in some game maybe you need to disable SLI for first time or waiting driver or works better without, ...

the link is an msi 650ti boost edition:) need to edit post^^

well the first msi OC 670 is
http://azerty.nl/8-4360-591276/msi-n670-pe-2gd5-oc.html
and its 392,54€
i think i could get the same with sli 650ti boost edition for -50euro?

Two GTX 660 easily beat a 680. Sadly no one has tried 650ti yet but I will stick my neck out and say that they SHOULD be faster than a 670.

Guru3D may review them in SLI.

Edit. Ahh yes I see they are Boost cards :)

2 x 660 or 2x660ti? because a normal 660 costs from msi then 186 euro
and the ti version i find @ 282.. with 372 euro for 2x660 i can accept but 564 euro... lmao :D
maybe i need to wait for a review on those 650ti once but i see the 660 has 200 more cuda cores then the 650ti so..

Why are you guys telling him to get 2 650 Boosts or 2 660's? If you can afford it always get a better 1 card solution, for you I would recommend the 7950 or if your budget can afford one then the 7970.

I've seen GTX 660 reviewed in SLI and they are easily ahead of the 680. It may be worth getting two of those if they're only 10 euro more.

I'm not a fanboy of Nvidia or AMD, whichever card is best for my money is the one I get, but do you actually believe what you just said?

Nvidia and AMD's cards from this generation are near enough the same performance wise. In fact, AMD are quite a bit cheaper and have better drivers and performance at the moment. The Nvidia six series card are more expensive and only offer marginal performance increases if any at all over their AMD counter parts.

For example, the 680 is £100 more than a 7970 yet the 7970 is overall the better performing card.

Agreed. 350 euros should easily get you a 7970, right? The NVidia drones really need to tone it down.

As I suspected they consistently beat out the 680 and 7970 in pretty much every test.

Eh? firstly the OP uses Nvidia and posted asking about Nvidia. Clearly he wants Nvidia cards so who is droning here? the people trying to help him with what he wanted OR those trying to sway him to AMD and convince him otherwise?

Have a word with yourself, mate.

As for SLI horror stories? they seldom exist any more. Get with the times and go and read some reviews of cards like the 690 and performance summaries on SLI on various cards.

dunno if i would go for nvidia again or amd?

The title of the thread is "Nvidia or AMD" Me and Jimbo were simply telling him that AMD is by far the better option.

Did you read the title of the thread :D

Also no one is trying to persuade him to go AMD people are just giving him options with explanations.

if read the link and if i would get 2 x 650 ti boost it would be cheaper then the cheapest 7970 and it would perform better..

so i think ill go for the power and try to find a link from the 660's and see how that is:)

The 650 SLI option and the 7970 option cost the same, offer about the same performance.

However, if you go for 650 SLI then if you want to upgrade in the future you will have to get rid of them and get something else, where as if you get 1 7970 then in the future you can always chuck another one in. Also, SLI is pretty good these days although there can still be issues and it is still really advised that if you can choose between an SLI option or a single card option that offer the same performance then you should always go with the single card option. In this case, a 7970
