Nvidia Driver issue

Recently bought a card from forums (GTX550ti)

However every time i install the drivers i get this message

I have fully uninstalled the nvidia driver before i put the card in. Anybody else have these issues or know how to resolve it?

It keeps making MSI afterburner reset itself everytime i reboot too.

Have you tried doing a custom install and clicking the "Clean Installation" option? Have you tried other driver versions? Maybe give Driver Sweeper a shot if that doesn't work.

You find less people using tools like DriverSweeper as AMD/nVidia/etc are building into their packages a better installation method than they used to. (about freakin time)

I'd be of the opinion 296.10 just isn't for you, on the face of it. Have a look at a release version below this and use the installation method with the clean up.

To be sure there's nothing wrong with you OS install, you could try the drivers that came with the card and see if they install ok.

I have tried a few of the previous drivers too and get the exact same results. It wouldn't be the card would it?

Have you had ATI driver installed previously? If so run driver sweeper and tick ATI drivers and clean as above.

Thanks for all of your suggestions but i am still having issues even though i have tried everything.

Don't fancy re-installing windows again tbh but looking like that is the only option.

You could always try the extreme and do a fresh Windows install. 99% it solves the problem.

Just make sure to backup all your files.

I'm no pro, and am not sure entirely of what you have tried however I did a quick google (based on your screenshot) for physx system software 9.12.0213 failed. And some other people have similair problems with other cards. One suggestion was to download just the video driver directly from Nvidia, install them, then download the PhysX drivers separately and install them after.

Now unfortunately I've personally never used an nVidia card, so I couldn't tell you where all the links are, but it's worth a try, no?
