Hi guys,

I'm new here.

I'm considering new notebook (ASUS OR TOSHIBA). It will be used for 3D modeling and work with graphics, nothing spectacular but for my classes, I don't need it to be extraordinary. And I need it budget friendly. So i was thinking Intel i3 @2.4GHz, 4GB of RAM, 500GB HDD, 15,6" display diagonal, card reader ....

My main worry is GPU so which one should I be looking for?

THX

there is a good desktop, but for classes I need smth solid for that kind of apps.

I don't need it for benching but for working smooth

Any good article to read ?

What 3D modeling programs will you be using? The programs will determine what is best for your situation. Most professional programs have highly optimized drivers available for nVidia.

It's already linked above, but notebookcheck is your best bet for comparing laptop graphics.

AutoCAD runs on the crappy Intel chipsets just fine at my school, so I don't think you will be struggling with even the integrated stuff.

Running is one thing, but supporting other features is another. I know Photoshop supports GPU acceleration. You would want something that is supported in order to take advantage of something like that. Fortunately, it looks like the supported list is pretty big.

Then, I would jump for pretty much anything with an nVidia chip in the price.

like i said you need atleast a 470m fella

Not at all, my friend runs all of those programs with EASE on a ASUS G50VT.

Specs:

Core 2 Duo P8400 @ 2.26 GHz

4 GB DDR2 667 MHz

9800M GS 512 MB GDDR3

I would try to AT LEAST get one with 16 shaders.

Here is a helpful link.

@AMDFTW That's not the case.

I've found good ASUS (Intel Core i3-350M 2.26GHz, 4GB DDR3, 500GB 5400rpm,display diagonal 15.6" @ resolution 1366x768, NVIDIA GeForce 310M 1GB DDR3) 566eur

I think it's optimal money/performance laptop that will do just fine with these apps.?!

That would be perfectly fine.
