Northy vs Pressy

ok so NickS just explained to me that northys can outperform pressys due to less pipelines stages etc and I have also heard from XMS that northys are better at lower clock speeds than pressys, but prescotts excel at higher speeds.

what i want to know is.....

why do pressys outperform northys at higher clock speeds?

which kind of speed are we talking about where pressys > northys.

also i would like to know the multipliers on 2.8ghz and 3ghz northys and pressys.

cheers guys :) :worship:

yes and no @tm per any given clock speed northys can outperform a pressy but pressys are designed to reach higher clockspeeds than northys (if using the same NM process) when (it now appears if) pressys go above bout 4.5 GHz and start to use that xtra cache then they will outperform the northy personally id prefer a northy (but pressys can reach higher clock speeds)

so for 3gig which would you recommend?

and to answer my own question 3gig multi=15 and 2.8gig multi=14 (at 800fsb)

personally id go for a nothy due to the less heat and good ocbility but pressys can (if u get good nuff cooling) oc higher

my current temps (on a celly pressy) are 46 load. is this low enough for another pressy?? also i was thinking about buying an xp120 or xp90.
