Noob question xD

Alright, i;m pretty much a complete nub with gfx cards.

in the next month or so, i'm planning on getting a nvidia 8400/8600, what ever my budget is xD

I've heard about fans and water cooling. I currently have a geforce 6200. if i got a 8400/8600, would i need to purchace a new fan/water cooling thingy majig.

No the card will come with a heatsink...

You can replace it if you want but only worth it if there's a problem with the stock one (too hot, too loud, not ocing enough etc).

if you go the route you are stating. i would stick with air cooling.. dont worry bout it its got a fan and heatsink on it.

the water cooling and the rest is a route for those that have bleeding cards that are pushed to the maximum and are getting incredibly hot 80C and above as far as temp is concerned.

i know the 8800GT can stand up to 90+C.
