First time builder looking for advice/help

Hi all,
I've never attempted to build a desktop PC before but decided to give it ago and would like classification on a few of my concerns.

Parts I'll be using-
i7 8700k
Nvidia GTX 1080
ASUS ROG Intel Z370 MAXIMUS X HERO Coffee Lake ATX Motherboard
Fractal Define R6 Black Mid Tower
Corsair H150i PRO 360mm cooler
Corsair 16GB DDR4 Vengeance LPX 3000MHz x2
Corsair CS650M 650W Hybrid Modular Power Supply
Samsung 970 EVO 500GB M.2 PCIe

I was planning on buying mainly from scan.co.uk heard their good for parts?

Been planning this build and doing some research to see what connects where, however in the R6 case it comes with a built in fan connector hub and I'm unsure what socket this would connect to on the motherboard, would anyone know which socket this went into?

Finally question I plan to mount the H150i above the motherboard is this the best postion for cooling or would vertical at the front be better for cooling?

Any help would be much appreciated, thank you :)

I'd double check if the R6 supports a 360mm radiator at the top or front, unit thickness could be an issue at the top. Aside from that, the hardware choices seem good.

Do you have another HDD or SSD for your PC? 500GB isn't much for a gamer these days. Some games now are over 100GB.

Actually, nevermind about the top rad support, must have been thinking of the Define R5. Video from Fractal below showing radiator mounting for the R6.

Thanks for replying, the R6 has a collapsible wall the sata drives fit into and since I won't have any I planned on pushing it back allowing better air flow from the front.

My current desktop has 500gb and I've still got 200gb left over I stick the same games for the majority of the time but I'm guessing I could add a SSD in the future if needed?

Would you know if there is a specific port for a fan controller? I've googled it and youtubed it but haven't found an answer :( I did plan on plugging them in individually to the motherboard but since the case comes with one pre-installed I thought I'd try to make it work if I can :)

I think what he means is how does the Nexus+ smart hub itself actually connect to the motherboard. If you have a look at the manual, you connect all the fans up - then there is a sata connection for power & another header which connects to the cpu fan header.

So provided you have adequate control over the cpu fan profile, all the other fans will follow this - I assume...

Define R6 User Guide

If this doesn't give you enough control you can use something like a NZXT Grid+ which needs power, but also has as usb connector - this allows each individual fan to be controlled via a graph profile set in their CAM s/w in windows. You then have a solution that is both motherboard & case independent.
