NoName, CM storm trooper

so guys i believe it is finished. and know that its done i feel like "meh", kind of like when you order something online and then you get the tracking number so you are constantly tracking it. and the more you check it the more anxious you get. but then when it finally arrives, there is that brief moment of joy and your all lit up inside, for like 5 minutes, and then it becomes "i have it now, now what?"

i don't know maybe it is only me.

here are some pics
a lot of them.

i will edit first post to show the finished product

Wow, that looks amazing. I would love to use green in my builds but barely any components have a green theme or just one plain decent colour (atleast cheaper ones). Did you sleeve the cables yourself?

i had managed to burn something on PCB for the fan control and light control when i was testing 8 corsair SP 120's so i cut all the cable for that long ago...

so i cut out the part of the PCB that didn't interfere with the audio jacks and USB ports and placed some green LED strips in there. pretty simple.

so guys its been a while. some upgrades coming soon. it seems that i have contaminated meyhems pastel somehow somewhere. it seems to be growing some brown stuff in the tubing. i would have caught it sooner if i wasn't away all summer and saw it every other other weekend. so the loop will need redoing and i am toying with the idea of pipe. as for system upgrades i need some suggestions, i am going to be running 5760x1080 resolution and obviously a GTX 480 would not handle that i am trying to decide what i should get.

option:
single GTX titan

option:
two way SLI 3gb GTX 780
only reason why i don't jump on this immediately is because i worry that the 3gb wont do as good as the 4gb on the 770 or the 6 gb on the titan

option:
two way SLI 4gb GTX 770

option:
two way SLI GTX TITAN
this sound outrages and would be complete over kill.

so guys i'm going with 2-SLI GTX780 with Heatkiller "Hole edition" black accent water blocks with matching backplate. Leaning very heavily on switching to acrylic tubing and bending. throwing in new pastel but will have to clean out the rads/rez/pump. i will also swap out the XSPC cpu block for a heatkiller block that matches the GPU's. can't wait to get started on this. i will probably order stuff next week. pretty exciting stuff, i'll keep you all updated

Just had a look through this and your "cable covers" and PSU covers are something I'd buy from you! Haha! (being a Trooper owner myself) this rig looks great man! love that green stripe across the top when it's all assembled.. That does it for me! hahaha And what you said about the excitement completely going when you get something after the first 5 minutes is EXACTLY how it is with me, so you're not alone :P reading through it I was going to say to mount SSDs where you have them now... But I was too late ^_^ it's a great rig man the only thing I would suggest is trying it with white LEDs instead of green ones, might bring the colour out better :) love the rig man!

thanks. i hardley ever have the LED's on, i kind of forget they are there. those pics really don't do it justice. inside the case they are more like accents then trying to light it up. i need to learn how to set the exposser right on my camera to get the closest to life picture as possible, it picked up too much light. the only place where it really lights up is on the top but that just shines through to the outside

Have you thought of doing a more in depth tutorial on how to swap the LED's in the front panel? I'd personally love to get some higher quality ones than my CM Storm Enforcer has in it.

is there something specific you need to know?

so guys my rig is going under the knife again. going to swap the XSPC waterblock with Watercool heatkiller CPU Rev3.0 Ni-Bl. swapping out the GTX 480 for 2 GTX 780 with watercool Heatkiller GPU-X^3 "hole edition" waterblocks with backplates. i am going to move to Primo Chill Rigid Acrylic Tubing. Keeping meyhams Pastel Mint green.
be prepared!

I just ordered a SeaSonic 1250X PSU. I'll be sleeving the cables with para-cord. When I sleeved the Corsair HX850 I had to mod it a bit by taking out the fan so that the sleeved cables could go into the PSU. I then placed a 120mm fan underneath the case to blow air into it. It worked fine for the single card setup, however with SLI GTX 780's I thinks its pushing its limits. I used a PSU calculator and the system without any overclocks is pulling an estimated 726 watts; this does not leave any room for anything. It will take a bit longer to complete but I think it will be worth it in the long run. the PSU should arrive on Thursday or Friday, I am hoping the para-cord comes in before then. water blocks and tubing should be in on Monday.

right now I'm running the rig with the HX850, with everything at stock speeds. during gaming the 780's are doing great, for the most part. BF3 Campaign is a little Bit** I can start playing and will hit 100+ FPS with everything on ultra @ 5760x1080 (without Vsync) and can play for a couple of minutes until it crashes the whole PC, multiplayer works fine. All my other games work like a charm.

if any body knows what this issue is with battlefield i would appreciate the help

stay tuned!!
