Noctua themed PC

Hi all

Thought I would post my build in this forum as well. I've been watching Tom's videos for some time now and heard about the forum in his videos.

Anyway... I've just about finished my computer today. Still got a few details to work on like lighting and cabling but for the most part the computer is done. I'm starting a new project soon so I won't be able to work on this in the near future. Anyway after several hours of work and 19 noctua fans later here are the pics of the final build....for now. :)

Component list:
Caselabs Mercury S5 with Pedestal
Intel 4770k
2x EVGA GTX 780ti Superclocked SLI
ASUS Z87 Gryphon with armor kit
Corsair 16GB DDR3 Dominator Platinum 2400MHZ CL9
Seasonic Platinum 1000W
2 x Intel 520 Series 240GB SSD in Raid 0
MDPC Sleeving + accessories
Aqua Computer Aquaero 6 XT
Aqua Computer D5 Pump
2 x Alphacool NexXxoS UT60 Full Copper 360mm
1 x Alphacool NexXxoS UT60 Full Copper 240mm
17 x Noctua NF-F12 PWM
1 x Noctua NF-S12A PWM
1 x Noctua NF-A4X10
+++ I've probably forgot something. :)

I like the concept, even though I hate Noctua styling.. but it looks awfully cluttered. Are so many fans really necessary? xD

hey i got 17 in my 900D

nice build, looks great although i personally don't really like the huge caselabs cases

Really? God damn. How loud is it? Surely the airflow in cases with that many fans is a mess.

SP120 QEs running at 7v. very quiet.
why should the airflow be a mess? 3x bottom intake, 2x front itake, 3x top exhaust, 1x back exhaust

Ah, I never even considered the notion that you would have some as intakes and some as exhausts. I was imagining everything as an intake for some reason. I need to wake up xD

I can kinda see the appeal now. Running lots of fans means you can run them slower, and therefore quieter. Huh. Go figure. Still not pretty though imo :p

You should of sprayed the case in wood efect xD
seriously though those brown/cream cables look sweet!

I could have used only half the amount the fans in the build. It's not necessary at all. Although as mentioned the computer is extremely quiet even at full load which was the main reason to put so .many fans in. Totally overkill to have so many fans but overkill is really fun to build.

I'd definitely appreciate any inputs to how to make it look less cluttered though.

It's no surprise that the noctua colors are either like or not. I personally like them so that's why I tried this color palette. :)

Despite having never seen a rig that looked nice with Noctuas, this looks fantastic because you carried the colour scheme throughout :) It's all very clean and coordinated, and I love the bits you can see through the window.

The one piece of (minor) advice I'd give would be to individually braid the front I/O connectors to keep it consistent with the rest of the build, the coloured wiring looks a bit out of place going to the motherboard in front of the graphics card.

Yes. I definitely agree. I have an idea to how to route the cables differently as well and sleeve them in the same color. Those cables in front of the GPUs does need work. I just need to find the time in between the other projects. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll post new pictures once I get the time to do it. :)

^^ I think it would make the build look awesome and make the Noctua's look like a part of the case instead of a feature.

Anyway love the build and I think you did really well to make the build look so good with such a... Noctua colour scheme. ;)

Thanks. :) The matte chocolate color was actually matched directly from the noctua packaging the fans comes with. The original plan was having the case in the exact same light beige color, but I later went with the dark chocolate color to contrast the fans more because I wanted the fans not to blend too much with the case and stand out a bit but not too much.

Having a wood effect would be very interesting. Maybe make the case from actual wood but that's way beyond my woodshop skills. :)

Oh sorry, on my monitor the case looked matte black . I really need to get a monitor with better colour depth :p.

I'm actually imagining the case colour now and I can see that that would look MUCH better than the colour I see lol.
