Noctua Cooling Competition

Nice one Runebeard!!!! The facial expressions are killing me and I like the disclaimer at the end.

I have fond memories of using Noctua products on my first real foray into performance PC building. I saved up my money from a part time job and bought a new PC along with a Noctua NH-U12F, one of their earlier products.

Over the years the cooler has done me proud, but once I upgraded to a quad it struggled in my case setup, and I had to let it go. I still have it, in a box here. If I won a new cooler in the competition I'd be willing to send the NH-U21F to one of the runners up for nothing, it's still got plenty of life left in it for someone, I'd be happy to spread the Noctua love that little bit further. I'd like to know it was going to a good home where it'll be put to good use!

Here's an image of the cooler ready to cool my old E6750. Served me brilliantly, and I really wanted a new Noctua high end cooler (this was the best at the time!) but I couldn't afford it as I wasn't working regularly any more.

It's difficult (if not, impossible!) to beat the quality and performance of Noctua products, anyone who wins one is very lucky indeed, the NH-D14 is an awesome cooler and unrivalled in it's class. I'd check it fits in your case first though! I would love to win one, hence the post here. Great competition OC3D, really impressed!

Onwards..............

Now, not everyone likes the colour scheme of Noctua products, but I think it's important for branding and distinction. I don't think they look bad to be honest. Take a look at these brilliant new branding and promotional ideas (Noctua feel free to use them if you want!):

Sponsor a Noctua Penguin! What could be cooler? Notice how this penguin looks a little cold. Why is that? Well, many would say it's because of the difficult, harsh environmental conditions, but they're wrong. This is a Noctua pengiun, so he's very chilly indeed! You can tell the Noctua penguins apart from normal ones as they are beige and brown:

OK, so perhaps the penguin idea was a little cruel, we would have to paint them, and I'm not sure how easy it is to even catch one, they look like slippery customers!

Fear not, as I always have more ideas.

I propose simple, yet decidedly subtle branding on important members of society.

Take this image of the 38th Governor of California - no doubt a very important man and seen on TV everywhere. Observe the subtle Noctua branding across the forehead and imagine the exposure to your products! Arranging this may be pricey, but it should pay for itself, eventually.

I've also noticed the Noctua company logo is an owl? Some sort of owl triangle circuit board thing, in short, it's not clear. How about some clarification of what Noctua means? Since it is indeed a type of owl, and owls are known for being particularly trustworthy (not to mention expert air coolers), I present an alternative logo below. This owl looks worth trusting no? The cursory wink and reassuring 'thumbs-up' make you feel like you're in a good place. You can trust Noctua owl.

Hopefully you can look past the crude image manipulation and occasional faux-pas and see your future Noctua!

I await your reply with anticipation.

Lol cheers guys

Tom dude, I can't send images via the OC3D email can I? How would you like me to send it to you?

Quite like the feel of this compo, very open and do what you like stylee. Deffo weeds out the people that want to put the effort in and the ones that just cba.

I agree. I'm not entering simply because I don't NEED a new cooling solution since I've got the Mega Shadow on my Q8200. Sure, I'd love a D14, but there's people out there that actually need it, and by not entering they have a bigger chance of winning.

I should win because my temps on a c2d e8200 reach to about 60C with the intel stock cooler. I have 2 Noctua case fans, they are great. Definitely Noctua is number 1.I want to win their "most wanted" cpu cooler to replace my old and no good dusty cooler. Then i`ll have a perfect team inside my case. That`s the only thing missing inside my case. I hope Noctua can help me enter in the new modern era by making me a surprize. Thanks Noctua for exceeding my expectations!

I draw attention to the word effort..... Entries have been so good you need to make yours stand out to be in with a chance of winning.

Noctua: Ultimate performance with no sacrifices and zero risks

I should win because I can`t do overclock and hope for world records without a Noctua CPU cooler.

I will be building a brand spanking new build by myself for the first time ever next month and the NH-D14 is the cooler of my choise. Being the poor student that I am I need just about all the help I can get to build a good enough PC to last me for a good while. A free NH-D14 would definately help me!

And if you think a guy whose current (4-year-old) rig looks like this doesn't deserve a chance, you have no heart!!!

I don't wanna relive the horrors of noisy stockcoolers and small headspreaders!

P.S. So poor I can't even afford a decent camera :'(
