No beeping noise when starting up my pc >_<

Basically a couple days ago started up my pc, and none of the startup writing came up and no beeping noise was made on my pc. I rr'd it a few times and then it eventually worked, thinking nothing of it i turned it off that nite and then when i came to turn it on next morning it wouldnt start properly. Basically all the power comes on, the fans/mobo lights up. One orange light comes on on the ram but no beeping noise. After getting some advice off a few friends, ive tried starting it up without any ram/without a graphics card/without everything apart from the psu and the mobo but still no beeping noise. Basically i have no idea what to do and am now hoping someone will give me an easy solution, or say i need to replace a part in my pc. Pleeeeeeeease help! i do offer sex for any help given. Im male btw ;) mrapoc can vouch for me being both sexy and blonde tho.
 
Have you tried re-seating the cpu or even trying the cpu in another system?

If it powers on, but doesn't beep even when there's no RAM or GPU it might be something to do with the CPU (or mobo).

I've seen it happen a few times before & a few times it has been the mobo, other times it's either the way the CPU is seated or the CPU is blown :(

On one occaision I've seen it happen in a case, then when we powered it up on cardboard it was ok, but in case again it did same. That time it was one of the standoff's on the case that was shorting out the mobo :eek: soon sorted once we realised what it was tho :)
 
I sed about the case shorting it and if hes not too lazy he will have a go. I wud have thought it wud beep if the cpu was dead but the mobo was alive. Perhaps they have both died?
 
Last dead cpu I encountered just had the fans come on, no beeps, nothing when u turned on.

That was an ASUS AH1 barebones effort with a Sempron.

Doesn`t necessarily mean dead, could be a worrying install or something. Best to strip it down, clean shizzle back to how it came and start again.-- with the base basics.
 
when my CPU was toast, comp turned on, nothing on the screen though

(my computer didnt beep cuz there was no speaker)
 
Ill go round sometime and rebuild it then bit by bit outside of the case

unless theres anything else he can try?
 
Sounds like a trial and error situation to me! Could be dodgy install, mobo, CPU or could it also be the PSU?

If you have a spare PSU, it might be worth taking it along to test, also once it's all up and running Memtest it, just in case of memory probs.

My suggestions anyways :rolleyes:
 
Wen my PSU went it would power up my fans and lights on the mobo would switch on, but the system wouldn't boot. Put in a diff PSU and it worked fine.
 
I have just had that exact same problem. It wasn't an Asus Maximus Formula board was it? After lots of testing as you did and sometimes getting it to boot, but mostly not, it was decided that the off and clear cmos buttons on the board were faulty. The stop button was solid and hardly worked at all. The clear cmos button just did not clear the cmos so I could not get it to boot or get back into the Bios to change my settings. I got the board changed today at Tekheads and so far no problems.I am now running an E8500 Core 2duo with no problems, which wouldn't work on the other board. This is also an Asus Maximus but the other one was the SE version and this is not.
 
Spoke too soon

Bugger! 1day in and having problems with this board as well. That joy was short lived. Not as bad as the other one but strange things seem to happen, like crashes when I plug in the RJ45 cable and the graphics card seemed to just die! I solved the graphics card problem by moving everything around and putting it in the bottom slot. It now seems to run better than before. The SATA ports on this board are a pain to get at as well with a big card in it and the cables don't clip in properly, so as soon as one cable is in you knock it out again when you put the next one in on top or in the next row down.

I am getting sick of Asus and their "Republic of Gamers" crap. It might have fast gaming features but it wasn't designed for a system builder. Some good ideas badly implemented.

No more Asus for me, I've had enough.:mad:
 
Ok new board came, hooked it up and its doing the same thing.

Am i right in thinking i need to test psu next?

Prob the cpu :(

dead cpu = no beep

but try a new psu

if it's only a skt939, I'd say it was BER :(
 
Had a similar problem with my old Socket 754 based PC. Turned out that it had shorted on the case. Doh.

As for having problems with your Asus boards Diablo (You thread hijacker you! :P) I've never had any problems....in fact, I positively love my Maximus!
 
Well we tried it outside of the case and its been rebuilt in the mean time so i dont think its shorting.

ahhh

psu testing time

if thats fails - i take it the cpu is dead :(

Sorry about the hijack VK, it wasn't intentional, I just saw someone having problems with booting and my motherboard problems came to mind so I though I would put my two penneth in to try to help out with ideas. I'm still new here but I'll learn :rolleyes:

I'm glad your Maximus is good for you. I am on my second one and it's still weird. Iguess thats a subject for another thread then.

@ mrapoc, it's so easy to look at all the complicated things it could be before you look at the simpler answers. The thing is if a psu is on it's way out it could be sending surges or spikes or nothing at all to different components all the time I suppose giving different errors. Well good that you got it sorted in the end and sorry again about hijacking your thread. :worship:
