Nintendo Wii and USA Games

Not money, greed. And your not getting my point. My point is, if they region lock it then that means usualy the UKers get screwed becasue they get game releases about a month after us. And we in the US cant send them a game to be played early. Im not exactly just talking about money here, im talking about the fact that becasue of the region crap we cant help fellow gamers out.

Not gonna start an argument buddy.

Agree on region lock sucking though.

and in which countries are you going to get the most, countries with a better economy.

Yeah but that all gets turned on it`s head when u realise the head office for all these outlets goes back to one country, not seperate countries with the same economies.

Like if my head office was in Croatia, I can get more profits out of UK prices. As a bad example. Locally I can sell them for peanuts.

In your example, why can you get more profits out of the UK, because there economy is stronger then where the head office is. Meaning they price things according to the economy.

Ya, so if it costs u £1 to manuf & produce in Croatia, u can sell for £1.50 in Croatia and £5 in UK cos u know they`ll pay it, regardless of it`s worth and costs. Hence the UK market is based on what u can get out of people rather than what the item is valued at.

Ipsofatso, we pay through the nose for no other reason that than it`s expected. We do it begrudgingly, but yet we`ll still do it. And couple with that the HMC will do it`s best to make damn sure we don`t find a cheaper way - which is more often than not available. Keep our prices high.

If the HMC never did this, our prices would be forced to fall due to competition, but they are kept inflatorily high by the dreaded RRP.

I can`t see anything that would physically stop a US manuf issuing a UK company the same good + a meger shipping expense (which is obviously less the more u send per unit). But they will never do it. If XFX can get $50 profit, ECS will want that give or take a small %, for no other reason than it`s achievanble in the UK.

A county`s market cannot be considered stronger or weaker than another if u can`t freely buy or sell to the competing countries. Stronger - can be used in terms of a monetary exchange, but if u can`t buy anything other than another currency, it`s pretty ineffective. My pound might get me 2 dollars, yet unless I`m in the dollar country that fact is useless to me due to constraints.

Are your chances of getting more out of consumers increased if the consumers live where the economy is strong and average wages is higher than normal?

I think higher is relative tbh. I goto the US and think a meal is cheap, to them it`s normal or high - that`s when u can appreciate a stronger currency. Sitting in a resturant in the UK less food with crappier service will cost me more. That doesn`t make my economy feel strong. Similarly with fuels/tobacco/houses/goods.

So if I`m able to venture outside my country, I`d feel strong. Whilst I`m in it - I feel the opposite.

The UK is a very strange place. Some1 says a new TV should be £5000, some people will queue up to buy it. Very easily led.

Is the UK economy stronger than the US ? I`m not too sure about that. I bet it`d depend on what figures u base that on.
