Nintendo Wii and USA Games

Hi all.

A friend of mine in the states has nicely mailed my friend a copy of the new Pokemon game for her little sister who is coming to stay soon.

Now before it arrives I am wondering will this play on the UK Wii? we've had USA copies of games before for the Nintendo DS Lite which had no issues however I am worried the Wii won't handle the game.

I defer to your knowledge on this one :):worship:

Thats just it I'm not sure myself, don't want to damage my Wii by trying and at same time do not wish to waste friends dollars sending a useless game over.

I hate to say it but that is horribly gay. Lametastic to be exact.

Don't be silly, I'm sure you know the economies are different in each country (some stronger than others), therefor pricing structures of games are altered to reflect each countries ecomomies and to stop imports from a weaker economy to a stronger one, they region lock them.

Yea but for you guys you always really wind up getting screwed so getting something from the US is just easier. Like games and parts for instance. You guys always wind up waiting an extra month than us. Yes it makes sense to region lock them, but still lame IMO. Just another way of getting more money.

I have heard of discs that you put in before the game you want and it changes the console in some way temporary to play the game.

I had one for the GameCube.. not sure if they are still about! :)

there are wii modchips available. Again legality is an issue here. Have a goggle for some wii websites on google.

Price structures are altered to get "as much money as we can for them" nothing technical.

Which is exactly what i was saying. Its a load of crap tbh.

Dude it seems that you're always against companies making a profit for some reason? This is the business world...run by money. Companies create a product that masses of people like, and they profit from it. Simple tbh...
