UPDATE AFTER PICTURE:
In the folding forum I'd mentioned wanting to start folding when I can. Cancer has touched my family a lot. My oldest bro we recently found has terminal cancer. Doctors don't know how he is still walking and doing what he can. Not a lot, but he is one tough guy and isn't letting it get him down. He can't change what is to come, so he might as well party on while he can.
His two sons are 31 and 33. A couple of their best mates that are brothers paid for an all day chartered fishing trip just for my bro Larry and his two sons, Heath (33) and Brendon (31). It may be the last time.
We live in Michigan and are surrounded by the "Great Lakes". We have many rivers and the number of smaller lakes (compared to the Great Lakes) last I recall were 11,000+ that are charted (mapped).
The boys said their dad didn't seem sick out there fishing last Sunday. That was the furthest thing from their mind. Brendon took a pic of his bro Heath and his dad Larry (my bro). The dip shit never got in a good shot, just the back of him.
Oh well, here is a shot of my oldest nephew, Heath and my oldest bro, his dad, Larry.
Heath is a beast. Hard to tell in the heavy garb, it was about -2 C Sunday. A CNC operator by day and a wrestling coach at the high school by night. With his beard he can look scary at times when he is not smiling, but his little sister laughs and says, "Heath? HA! All smoke and mirrors, he's a pussy cat." She just got a tattoo today that says, "Daddy's Girl."
UPDATE: June 16, 2013 about 6:30 PM EST, my brother Larry's 65th birthday he died from cancer. He told his daughter Erika two days before he could see our dad who died 42 years ago May 27th. He said our dad was coming back to take him. The next day he was out of it, mumbling and saying over and over, "5, 4, 3, 2, 1." Then at times, "...got to get them in a row." His wife and kids figured Larry was organizing, he was very organized. My sister and other brother, Linda and Lenny, knew what it was. Before I was born, when our dad watched them when mum was away dad would play Hide and Seek with them. My dad in a melodic tone would say, "5, 4, 3, 2, 1, I hope you're hiding because here I come." Also, they had a game where the object was, to get you ducks all in a row. Dad played that with them. Larry was playing games with our dad.
Sunday about 3:00 AM after not moving for 2 days, he sat up in bed and called his wife Jill over. She said he hugged her so hard it hurt, it was unbelievable she said he could do that, he was so weak. He told Jill he loved her 3 times. He told her, "They are all here now." She told him it was okay to go with them. He suddenly pushed her away, told her to get away and he laid down. She thought that was going to be the end. My sister went to see his Saturday and Sunday, very surprising since she avoided such things like the plague. He told her he loved her 3 times Saturday, Sunday he could not talk, but tried. When she asked if he knew her he'd squeeze her hand. She told him she loved him and he squeezed her hand hard several times. She had to leave, she said it was too much and she had medication she had to get home to take. A couple hours later he took his last breath about 6:30 PM. As I said, his 65th birthday and father's day.
His funeral is Wednesday, 11:00 AM EST. Been going through a tremendous amount. Happy ole Fred on the outside, but a wreck inside. Other family stuff, my own problems and then this. Drove my sister to Chicago University Medical Center to a specialist today (Monday), I know the area a little I worked for Motorola and a computer company there a few years. Was worried about her too, but she is going to be okay we found out. Got back and I went through pictures for the viewing and funeral of my brother.
I had a major mind fuck experience about 8:00 PM when going to call my one niece to tell her I found many good pictures. Meaning to call the niece I hit the number for Larry's cell phone. I hear, "You have reached the phone of Larry Ross, I can't answer the phone right now..." My brother's voice...I hung up and totally fucking lost it. My mum wondered what happened, I couldn't tell her.
I still want to fold, but don't have a video card right now for the system I'll use. I had a 5770 I was going to put in it, but gave it to a woman I volunteer with, put it in her OLD system. Things have been totally messed up and I have not even thought about it, need to take care of other stuff right now. My money is going in my car right now too. Seems like I can't get ahead...one step forward, two steps back.
If you don't see posts from me, I'm here, just not as into commenting much right now.
UPDATE DOS: Prayers to my sis-in-laws Hemenway family. Her uncle Jay was killed in a farm accident just before my brother's viewing. He was supposed to be there. My brother was close to him.
