New Xbox One Project Scorpio specs have been leaked

1800? 4k is 2160 ?

Yep. I know. And yep, it's considered 4k according to them.

You can have enthusiast console gamers. I know they may not synonymous, but they are compatible. Some people really do prefer gaming on consoles. There is something magic about it for them. They're 'enthusiastic' about it.

I am an enthusiast gamer. Whether its PC or console. I just love to game. I am not picky about what platform, although I am not a Nintendo person. Just can't stand elitism, just have fun playing whatever you play. Except COD. COD can die^_^

Exactly. Great comment. Except I like early COD. I have some great memories playing BOII on the PS3. :D I still jump on every now and again.

That being said I think it is a waste to go 4K crazy, as nobody owns 4K screens right now. That will change in time, though to me it seems like a push too far ATM.

Actually there are a lot more 4k tv's in living rooms than you think. Working in a warehouse for a big retailer I see about 500 4k tv's going out every week and we only cover north east london.
4k is pretty cheap now you can get a reasonably decent 4k screen for around £400, Its the smart bit that brings the price up.

But are people buying 4k TV's because it has a 4k resolution or are they buying them because 4k TV's are now in their price range with the overall features they want. Most PC gamers who buy 4k monitors do so because of the 4k resolution. They don't just buy a random high-end monitor on a few different specifications and it happens to be 4k.

If that's true, while many people are adopting 4k televisions, the reason why they are is a distinction worth noting as it helps gauge interest in 4k content.

I think it's easier for the average consumer these days to get 4K then 1080. In the UK at least anyway.

Does it matter? the fact stands, people are buying 4k TV's

But the real issue is will this console actually utilize 4k in any meaningful way? Probably not unless it's an exclusive title.

Well not really.. the main point is; does this new console utilise 4K more than the current Xbox One.. I think we can safely say, yes probably. And that's all that is really important in my opinion.

XBone S has a 4k Bluray drive and is about the cheapest option atm for playing physical media. Gaming? Not so much.

Yes, it does. If people are buying 4k TV's because it's what's available and not because they are desperate to enjoy 4k content, developers might be less inclined to provide said 4k content since what would be the point? They can just continue to provide 1080p entertainment and be happy. If the consumer is happy with 1080p content then that's what the developers will provide. TV manufacturers are making a load of money on new tech that isn't even being utilised.
