New speakers

£50-£80 for some new speakers for the summer baby. I am looking for some crisp sound speakers, with a bit of kick (bass). Crispness is the main thing.

I love the looks of the Logitech Z-5500 but that's way out of budget, unless someones selling some here lol.

Thank you.

Do you already have an amp or are you looking for an all in one system?

I'd say get a set of decent bookshelfs if u have the amp

If not, perhaps a 2.1 the same price as a 5.1 £80 - you'd get more quality for ur money rather than extra underpowered surround tweeters

i have a sony hifi like this but mine has a seperate sub! which all comes to about 700 watts!(this 1 is 380w rms) but these sony hifi's are designed for windows!

Features:

•High power Mini HiFi system with integrated iPod/iPhone cradle. Release your entire iTunes library in stunning Sony sound quality, just dock your iPod/iPhone and press play.

•7 built-in equaliser presets and X-MAXIMISER function to get the best sound from your music collection

•Crisp, clear stereo sound from 2-way front speakers, delivering 380W of total system power

•Boombox type CD loader, and 1 DISC CD player

•Supports most popular audio file formats, including CD-R, CD-RW, MP3, AAC and WMA (DRM)

•40mm horn tweeter to fill any room with rich blasting bass

•FM/AM radio tuner with 30 stations preset (FM 20/AM 10) and dual external antenna

PC IN for easy connection with your home computer or laptop, and easy release of your entire iTunes digital music library

•Neat space-saving unit, stylishly designed to fit with any decor

•iPod/CD/Tuner sleep and play timer functions plus remote commander for easy operation from anywhere in the room

cant fault mine for the pc! only downside is they have a preset equaliser! but i just leave the hifi eq set quite flat and sort that out in windows!

Thanks mate, that looks great. Can you explain to me how it connects to the PC and what I can do with the PC and such. I guess it's just line out?

What is the sound and bass like without your extra sub?

i actually have my sub knocked off most of the time as i find it bassy enough without it!! unless im playing a game like grid or dirt2 which has good beats! :) and yes its line out on my hifi to connect to pc!

Youngie, I've got an old set of Sony sorround speakers, like the type you get for your living room connected to an amp via basic speaker cable that can be found in Richer Sounds in all varieties. The best purchase is the 2 channel line in cable to go from the amp's input to the line out (green socket) on the mb/soundcard output (see pic). The link is the amp I have but any will do, check ebay for ur budget.
