new screen time :)

HDCP is nothing mate. Its an intel thing for protection nothing more.

Now if you meant High Definition then thats different, but why would you want a HD monitor ( normally with HDMI ) for a pc unless your playing xbox or ps3 games or watching dvd's with a HD dvd player.

Also then 1920x1200 resolution is better than 1920x1080.

I personally would buy a 1920x1200 monitor with HDMI for future use but if i just wanted it for gaming and general pc use i would not be bothered.

Hope you find the right monitor.

Ian

I would NOT but a new 24" monitor for £150 mate.

My old asus 22" MW221u's are pants compaired to my Samsung T240's, the sammys are a different league.

Also if you are going from 19" to 24" make sure your GPU can cope with it and also its recomended to have more than 512mb of vga memory for a 24" screen.

I run 2x 1gb gpu's now ;)

Looks a very nice monitor,

Ive ordered almost my entire computer parts off ebuyer, had no problems at all VERY promt payment and delivery with good rates too.

I know someone who uses a Samsing SM2433BW 24" monitor 1920x1200 res, 5ms response time. Says its a great buy. Good review from CPC mag too which is a bonus!

Good luck

Could buy 3 samsungs at the price of a single Dell...

I have the 2443BW which certainly isn't bad and I remember the price being quite low when I bought it too. Might want to see if it's around 150 by now.

1920x1200 is obviously going to be slightly better for desktop realestate, but isn't 1920x1080 going to be the better resolution for 1080p HD stuff with no screen stretching?

so would you recommend this one?

strange thing is everywhere else it seems to range from £200 - £250

What? All the screens in a dell are samsung panels.

Makes paying all that extra pointless when Sammy's look better aswell.

No, what ur failing to notice is that Samsung make a full range from a cheaper end of the fuzzy spectrum of displays (not panels), all the way up to the more expensive than Dell models. What Dell have done/did is picked out the ones they choose to use in their lineup.

We get/got the full selection of Samsung screens, some without panels, from the 24/7 office use 19/20" fuzzy models (type u purchase by the 1000) - which I'd not even think of entertaining myself. Right to the 24/30" signal and picture monitoring type, rarely without panels, that are great for intake or editing tx. The higher end I would choose, but would need atleast a personal loan to get one.

Whereas u can get a Dell version, minus all the sdi, but still retaining the digital/analogue pc connections, plus the ever so handy pc connectivity stuff - beauty being, they use the displays the more expensive Samsungs have ;)

damn just found out that

http://techsohos.com

is a scam site, the store dont exist, luckily i was going to go and pick up rather than order online so they didnt get any details from me, but thought i better post it up incase anyone else was looking at there site :(

You love to argue dont you Rasta LOL

the same screen in a sammy is CHEAPER than the dell model with it.

Thats my point. Why buy the expensive dell when you can have the same quality screen in a sammy for LESS!

I never mentioned the cheap models did I? Just said Dells have sammys screens in them..... which they all do :D

They won't be the same I can assure you ;)

There aren't 2 monitors, for example a "whatever" Samsung 24" and a "whatever" Dell 24" that will have the same quality display.

For all I know (I haven't looked into them) Eizo screens could be made or supplied by Samsung. Eizo > Samsung tbh.
