New Rig with i7 3960x

Hello, this is my first post of hopefully many more in the future.

I have had experience with computers since I was 9 years old (35 now). Some years back I went from custom PC to Alienware, recently, the little custom bug began again and took the plunge on my new rig, this is the list of things I just bought, though, wanted advice from you experts if everything will work or missing something:

Case: CoolerMaster HAF-X

PSU: Corsair Professional series Gold 1200W

MoBo: ASUS Rampage IV Extreme LGA2011 X79

CPU: Intel i7 3960x Extreme Edition (3930k was not in stock nowhere so I took this one, over payed

)

CPU Liquid cooling: Corsair H100 (Will this suffice?)

GPU: HIS Raedon HD 6990 with 4GB GDDR5

Memory: Corsair Vengeance DDR3 @ 1600 32GB Total RAM (8 x 4GB Modules)

SSD: Corsair Force GT 120GB Sata 3, 6GB/s

HDD: Seagate Barracuda SATA 3, 6GB/s, 1 TB @ 7200 RPM

Misc: Dell High Speed SATA DVD-RW



Peripherals:

Monitor: Viewsonic 27" HD 1080p, 3ms Response, 60,000:1 Dynamic Contrast

Keyboard: Logitech G510

Mice: Cyborg RAT 7

Am I missing something besides the OS?

I would change the case and cpu cooling. The design of the Haf isnt very nice, but it do have good airflow. When it comes to chosing case its very personal, so its hard to give advices on that. As long as the case have good features and good airflow its all good really. so il leave that up to you. A NH-D14 is mutch more easy to use then the H100. the radiator needs to be cleaned pretty often and you never know how long the pump will last. The H100 is pretty noisy on max, while the D14 is always pretty silent. Though, the D14 is pretty large compared to any WC.

Also. AMD have launched new gpu's and the 7970 is doing pretty good and in some tests its actually beat the 6990. I would get that or a 580 from nvidia.

Is nearly the exact system I am building......

I already have the Rampage I'V Extreme. (although it's going back as a couple of pins bent in the socket, wasn't me.... As I don't have CPU yet)

Mine is all going in the Corsair 600T (which I love, but as azurite said the case is a personal choice)

Memory I went for the G.Skill Ripjawz 2133 MHz

Azurite, thank you for the quick response, problem I have is that I'm not within the US and I already ordered everything, returning any equipment at the moment would increase the build cost a lot.

I will check out the D14 over at frozencpu.com, it's much more bulkier than the Corsair H100, though, seems that it does a very good job.

I saw the 7970 announced after I ordered the 6990

Will see how it goes.

If you like the look of the HAF-X, have a look at the CM Storm Trooper. Much better case IMO.

Im sure you be happy enough anyways. Its just minor changes anyways. Know severalpeople who use the H100 and they r super happy.

I have doubts that the d14 will fit over the ram. I think you'll be better off sticking with the h100. Honestly, I think you'll be just fine. GLHF =]
