New rig - Advice would be greatly Welcomed!

The Be Quiet is £70 and is a great unit. Remember, never skimp out on a PSU, if you do you'll regret it in the future when it goes 'pop' and takes the rest of your components with it

Alright, I always thought a PSU was just a PSU. But I guess spending a bit extra will be worth it. Thing is this build is already going to cost around £700-750 - If I sell my current rig (minus the Hard drive) I might be able to get £350 (current offer) then it's only a £350-£400 upgrade, but I still feel it's too much in all honesty.

Is there no way I can reduce the cost of this rig in some way?

No, it's only if your a noob and set it up wrong that that happens

I am most definitely a Noob at setting up multiple screens. However, if I do get around to it, I'll look into properly setting it up. I don't want to have 3 screens to start - that would be stupid when I can manage fine with my current one, but it would be nice to know that I could do it if I ever did come across the funds.

Ah! that's more my style! Thanks man! Just saved me a wad of cash - anything else I ought to change?

No that PSU is non-modular. All the cables lying around everywhere will be a nightmare in the Prodigy. Much better to spend the extra £20 and get the Be Quiet. Yeah the CX600 is great, but it'll be a pita in your case

Can't I just cut some of the unused wires off? Would be a nice bodged job.

Nope, that won't work lol

Damn it. Thought I'd found a good solution then. I guess if it's just £20 quid... but this is starting to be a really expensive upgrade - well expensive for me.

just had a look around and if you need to save some money on this build then theres this psu http://www.dabs.com/...efs=50113&src=3 and if you spend £150 or more then try code june10 as this might get you £10 off

Thanks dude, that looks pretty damn good

Could I get away with a lesser graphics card? Maybe even a cheaper mobo?

Well, what kind of games do you play, and shall you be playing them with 3 screens?

As for your mobo, check out the ASRock Z77E-ITX - cheaper than the Asus, and it's a looker, too.

You still thinking about 3 gpus? 1155 isn't enough for that really - you'd need a 3820 on a x79 board.

As for saving on the gpus - these really need to be the components you don't skimp on. Multiple monitor gaming set ups aren't ever going to be cheap!

Er... i mainly play games like D3 and skyrim at the moment, probably going to get battlefield3 soon - that kind of stuff, although I'd like to be able to play pretty much any game on high or ultra if I can.

As for the screens, 3 screens is an ideal, if it's going to cost me a lot more then I'm fine sticking with one screen.

One last PSU offer: Check out the OCZ ZT 550W. Fully modular, pretty low price. People don't seem to like OCZ but I've never had a problem.
