One last PSU offer: Check out the OCZ ZT 550W. Fully modular, pretty low price. People don't seem to like OCZ but I've never had a problem.

Generally ocz is not recommended, he would be much better off spending a bit more and getting a quality Corsair or be quiet unit

@petrolhead i dont understand why he cant just cut off the cables he does not need, as long as he does it carefully and makes the ends safe, just make sure to leave a sata or molex coiled up for future upgrades

What if he needs them in the future? Yeah sure he could leave the Sata's and Molex's, but then what's the point in cutting only a couple of cables? What if the PSU fails and he needs to RMA it? He can't RMA it with cables cut up left right and centre. It's just just so much easier and much more practical to spend that little extra and get a modular unit.

i agree, thats what i did, but not every solution is right for everyone
